I don't have all the answers...just winging it in the hopes that an idea can turn into the foundation of a solution.

 

why not talk to inTank to see if they can make you a basket to fit the 2nd chamber just for your refugium?  🙂

So obviously this is a fairly new line of tanks so there are not a gazillion like the biocube, nanocube, etc. I also did not add tanks that haven't been updated in the last 6 months. Feel free to comment and ask me to add your tank. Also any thread links that have to do with modifications, upgrades etc.

Just got a Nuvo 38. I will be putting together a build thread soon. I hope it doesn't crack and leak. I bought it from the original owner who was running it for 5 years straight so I would like to think that if it was going to fail, it would have failed by now. Fingers crossed.

I am using 2 Kessil A350. If I could do it again I would have spent the extra cash on the A360 instead.

Wouldn't you need two of those plus two fixtures? I don't really see the cost being that much cheaper than a second hand AI Prime.

you would want to get 2 of them. also, while the Coral Compulsion are more, you do get the option of changing the lens angle, so you can tweak them for better spread.

depending on what he buys, they're not that much...nor are the clamping gooseneck stands (or go cheaper DIY with something that's custom and hanging). granted, my mind is always thinking in CAD funds, so the AI Prime's and Kessill A80's are still expensive when used.

 

also chansman, depending on your goals, take a look at the options from Current USA. you can buy their LOOP system which gives you a bar light, wavemakers and pumps with a controller that manages ALL of them. and the prices aren't bad either! WV Reefer has the Current USA system on her 12 gallon long and dirty and has nothing bug good things to say about it. :)

So...I leaked tested the tank yesterday and all is well. The stock pump is pretty weak for sure. Should I replace it first or add a Jebao OW-10?

Well I had to join after finding this forum. Love my nuvo and seeing yours has definitely left me inspired. Curious if anyone else is running the IM minimax reactor and if so what media you run? Currently have mine setup with biopellets but have tried gfo, carbon and purigen in the past. Tank is currently running chemipure blue and an IM ceramic block in the first basket, a custom skimmer stand for my Icecap K1 that holds a bag of GFO in the second compartment and then a bag of purigen down in the void space under those first 2 compartments. Not sure if there’s something better to run in the reactor or if I should just leave it running as is.

Decided to give one of the coral lenses a try. Very pleased with the results. Icecap Coral Viewing Lens Kit. Thinking about moving the monti cap over closer to the main peak. Also picking up some birdsnest for the top of the peak and some forest fire digi to give a little more variation in coral shapes. Also this gives me a chance to explain the name- after years of focusing on keeping and working with the biggest nastiest freshwater fish, reptiles and other creepy critters I couldn’t get away from keeping fish with serious attitude problems and the “nightmare” zoo theming. So I have fish that are a nightmare for many reefers- a Fiji blue devil damsel and a neon Dottyback somewhere there’s a nasty little yellow watchman that enjoys biting me too. There’s also a random molly in there currently, I toss in one or two from my feeder colony into my various tanks for algae control from time to time.

Hi Everyone, I have a Nuvo Fusion Pro 25 Lagoon that's been up for exactly 3.5 months. All of a suddn there's been an explosion of algae in the back chambers. 

This is my first tank and I'll admit the past month I haven't been on top of cleaning the display glass and there's some recent algae growth there too, but it's not that bad. 

 

The growth in the back chambers is more aggressive.  Is it normal for algae to grow back there? Is it something that will just need to be cleaned manually on a regular basis with the rest of the tanks needs?

 

Thought about throwing a few snails back there. Let me know if that's a bad idea.  Any advice or criticisms are appreciated!

Joel & Members, well i'm back, after being out of the hobby for 8 years, i'm going to step back in. Looking for hardware advice right now. In the past I have owned a Nuvo 8 & a Nuvo 30g. I have found what I think is a barely used Nuvo Fusion Pro 40, I say this because I have not seen it yet but will be picking it up in a week or two. Now I'm just planning what I will need to buy as I sold everything so i'm looking to all of you for hardware upgrade recommendations from heaters to ato and other upgrades. on my other two IM's I did the InTank media baskets, or custom caddys. looking at running cheato maybe this time instead of skimmer, have no idea on a light yet but planning only of softies and LPS, this time around I want a low maintenance tank!  Thanks in advance for everyones input, this was a great forum in the past and i'm sure it still is now!
