claval01
I might be interested, I have the Fluval Sea LED that I was thinking about putting on it. Not sure if that would be too much light but what are you looking to get out of it? Link to comment
BadCrab
Looking good, I dig your little hammer. Is the pump still loud now that it's had a chance to break in? Link to comment
claval01
Thank you! I actually had IM send me a new pump and this one is perfect. The original was bad out of the box. the new one is silent. The IM nano Skimmer is great as well. It took exactly 7 days to "break in" and not its producing some nasty stuff lol. Here is a full shot. Link to comment
claval01
So....I did my first water change last night and changed all the media, I also added Chemi Pure elite. I cleaned my IM Aquagadget skimmer and reinstalled the cup and bam MICROBUBBLES tons and tons my xenia and Hammer were kinda annoyed they closed and hammer was spitting out mucous. Am I going to get microbubbles every time I clean my skimmer cup? Link to comment
gqjeff
Yes, I have found anything you do causes the skimmer the throw micro bubbles for a couple hrs. Food, hand in tank, cleaning anything and bam bubbles. Its just the fact there is no dwell time in the rear chamber for bubbles to rise and burst. That's what we have to deal with in AIO tanks with NW skimmers. Now if you used an air stone skimmer it does not throw any micro bubbles back into the tank but I have seen where they can go crazy and can actually start a syphon draining water out of the DT. Cleaning the cup should not lead to anymore bubbles though.. Link to comment
markalot
Howdy, ... coming from the Nitrate thread ... I would test Nitrates again tomorrow, again a couple of days later, and again after the next water change. You'll have to use the nitrate test as a guide when to change water, either how often or the quantity. Maybe twice a week or so now, and less in the future as things settle down. As long as it stays yellowish and the corals look happy then all should be ok. If it starts to look orange or the corals, especially what looks like a frogspawn on the bottom, start to contract significantly then do a water change. Eventually you'll get used to judging water quality by how the corals look. Nice tank, good luck! Link to comment

BadCrab
what do I dip them with? I prefer ReVive but many swear by CoralRX and others. Some people even use Bayer insect repellent iirc, just do a quick google search or ask your lfs. You really should be dipping everything but inverts and fish, imho Link to comment
joel sandoman
Lugol's iodine is a great dip too. Been hearing Bayer's is good too Link to comment
x3thelast
I've just started to use Bayer. I used to use coral rx but it still ended up with flatworms. So I stepped it up a notch. Link to comment
