Sometimes a water change fixes parameters but read the guide by RHF where he says that even though one parameter is lower than the other from normal levels, you should dose both to keep the tank ionic balance. Also raising the calcium will drop the alk. Or you can wet skim. Link to comment

They are just beginners stars until you upgrade to some heavy duty ones. When I was a teenager, I must have had at least 20 different kinds of throwing stars. They sold them at the cutlery store downtown, and we'd stop by every week to see what was new. They all came completely dull, so we'd take them my my friend's bench grinder and sharpen them. I've somehow lost them all over the years. I have no idea where they all went. Only the tips are sharp to reduce the risk of cutting yourself. Oh, I'll fix that. I have a full compliment of professional blade sharpening equipment. LOL. Thanks again, very fun and thoughtful gifts. This will be my favorite holiday gift for sure. Link to comment
