Yes they do so you do have to keep adequate distance between them and other corals. However I doubt they can kill anything near them as they dont have the most potent sting ive come across. For instance ive seen a fish accidentally swim against them and while he definitely was stung it wasnt nearly enough to render the fish immobile. Link to comment

(...had to post the pics one more time...just because they are so nice) Scale is lacking, but here's my guesses: I believe that the first pic may be a Favites sp. since the corallites are cerioid (shared walls). The second would likely be Acanthastrea echinata. Link to comment
