Mirya
she just HAD to check out my new flowers . I'm not sure if you've been a cat owner before, but FYI now that you have those two you should never bring true lilies (Lilium sp.) or daylilies (Hemerocalis sp.) into the house. Ingestion of less than 1 leaf or petal is fatal to cats (causes kidney failure) unless treated within 18 hours of ingestion. There have even been reports of cats affected by just the pollen. Calla lilies, water lilies, and lilies of the valley are unrelated to the true lilies and daylilies, but are not entirely safe. Calla lilies have insoluble oxalate crystals which will cause oral pain, drooling, vomiting, and potentially swelling of the mouth. Lilies of the valley can cause seizures and irregular heart rhythms. I am honestly unsure about water lilies. Most cats aren't going to brave swimming in a koi pond to eat them anyways! 3 Quote Link to comment

I DIDN'T know that about Lillies! Thanks for the heads up! I usually buy something and then look it up to see if it's poisonous so this will save me from wasting money! Thank you! We had an oleander bush in our backyard when we first moved in and that was removed almost immediately. Didn't want to mess with that having a 3 year old son and pets playing in the backyard! Gena, they're not kittens anymore!! Growing so fast. Crazy!! I know...they are growing SUPER fast now! I didn't get around to taking photos of the tank today. Got a late start on the water change and by the time things cleared up the lights were too dim. I should be able to grab some tomorrow. I can show off my new Miami Vice zoas from Lawnman that arrived today . I did buy this today....... and this happened lol...... And finally this happened They love their new tree . Fishy pics tomorrow!!!!! 8 Quote Link to comment

They were finally being hosted by the anemone (center of my tank- freaking beautiful!) after I got the cleaner mag from Gena, but then stopped this afternoon. Quote Link to comment

HarryPotter
Oh . Maybe they'll go back . Haha I'll just clean the glass more and "accidentally" cause them to flee to the anemone- or is that evil? 1 Quote Link to comment

Glad I could help! The lily thing is a weird cat-only thing too. Lily root is used in traditional Chinese medicine with no ill effect to the people who ingest it. Dogs don't have any issues with it either. Here is a really good resource for toxic and non-toxic plants. You are such a good cat mommie getting your kittens such a wonderful tree! 2 Quote Link to comment

Looks like lavender is safe. Hydrangeas just cause gastrointestinal disturbance so that's good. They are still leaving both alone . I think they slept in that tree last night. They love it! 3 Quote Link to comment

gena
Random question but how many pounds of rock do you have in the tank?I'm going to guesstimate about 15 pounds. Maybe less. 12-15#. I promised fishy pics today and boy am I delivering LOL. Here's a huge dump New pink with turquoise eye blasto at far right and Lawnman's miami vice zoas above and slightly left of that. New ricordea Moved the pink hippos up because they were shading my magicians and the magicians weren't happy about that . My LFS couldn't find me a small fox coral this week but he's going to keep looking. I'll probably replace the boring cynarina with the fox coral once I find one. He has a nice pink one now that could possibly fit in the cynarina's place but I'd rather get a small one and grow it myself. the colors on this tank are amazing! they all match perfectlyThank you. I planned it that way . Wanted to keep it an all soft pastel colored theme! I have a plethora of cat beds my ferret has zero interest in lol such an ass he is. All 6 lbs of him .Did you know ferrets are illegal to have in California? That's what I was told. But our Petco sells ferret cages LOL. 9 Quote Link to comment
