I mostly frequent Puchong and SS15 beautiful tanks by the way Hi, my primary LFS is NOA (New Oasis) in Mt. Austin in JB. I acquire all my livestock there. Hermit crabs come in every now and then. They have a FB page, and you can reach out to them for further enquiries. 👍 And thank you very much. 😊👍 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
My Zoa Garden today. Due for a WC tomorrow. I had to hold back any major clean ups because I've been unwell since yesterday. 😕 I did manage to clean the filter, replace the media and soak up some of the algae film using tissues though! 2 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Finally WCed the tank today! Also managed to frag my lepto. I'll be leaving the larger piece (at the bottom) at my LFS the next time I head to the store: I'm glad it came off in one piece though! I also glued the new leopard discosoma frag on Mushroom Mountain: Hopefully it'll perk up and spread out once it's settled. I did make a terrible mistake while I was siphoning out all the algae from the tank during the WC. Turns out I accidently siphoned out one of the free floating fancy tricolor rhodactises I purchased long ago, and by the time I'd realized it was missing, I'd dumped the wastewater (including the shroom) in the toilet bowl. 😕 Really sucks. One morph lost there. 😔 On the bright side, I managed to remove a lot of algae and also several pesky flatworms. I also noticed my 3rd Zoa Ledge has grown out even more with new polyps: 😊 Also managed to get a pic of this recluse: And get a topview comparison shot of my favias: 1 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
My main Zoa Ledge (#1) is doing quite well too. Thinking of fragging some of the Devil's Armors and Purple Monsters. 🤔 The Butt Munchers polyp accidently became detached while I was basting the rocks thoroughly, so I re-glued it - but chose a different spot near the Rainbows instead: Overall topview. 🥰 1 Quote Link to comment
Xj reefing
Just wondering how you frag your zoas? I am thinking about trying to frag some of mine that are being smothered by less desirable brown palys. The zoas are on a frag plug still Quote Link to comment

The zoas are on a frag plug still Usually just snip off a tiny portion of the rock the polyps are attached to, then glue the rock piece to either a frag plug (seldom) or larger LR piece (mostly). Took a bit of trial and error with the clippers, but I'm still not too good at it, unfortunately. 😕 1 Quote Link to comment

Nano sapiens
Wonderful coral coloration and healthy looking! I noticed the B. merletti clearing space around it. Blastomussa in general are supposedly to be quite mild, but on the other hand I've found Merletti to be quite the exception (even dominates Pavona when in contact). 1 Quote Link to comment

Thanks! 😊 Yeah, the merlettis pack quite a bit of a sting. I was quite surprised they started pushing the leptastrea back as they grew out. I'm leaving them as it is though. 1 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
New buffer bottle has arrived! 💦 I always purchase 1 or 2 buffer bottles (Ca, Mg, kH & ChaetoGro) in advance before the current buffers are finished. So this bottle will serve as a spare. Since the nano requires around ~3.5ml of kH buffer per day, I go through bottles pretty quickly. 👍 2 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
After 80% WC & rigorous clean up today: Most pieces are still very cranky. I rearranged the shrooms on Mushroom Mountain too. Moved the forest fire rhodactis up, the green bullseye down etc. Tank looks sulky, but things should perk up again in a few days. 👍 3 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Tank is still waking up, so most of the corals are still shrunken. A closer look at the bicolored brain coral this morning: Merlettis clearing a path on the rock: Fungia: Acans: I had to frag off the leptastrea-monti patch because the leptastrea was smothering the monti to death, and I wanted to save the monti. The frags went into my 60G. There's a few stray leptastrea polyps on the rock which I will remove during the next WC. As the monti, I'm hoping it'll grow out again from the 2 remaining patches on the rocks: Truly loving all the new zoa polyps growing out on Zoa Ledge #3 : Yuma pile hasn't fully opened up yet. My hand keeps shadowing the pile as I take a pic of it, so all the topview shots come off darker than usual. 😕 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
A variety of shrooms: These ones are still shrunken because I just turned the lights on. Yesterday, I removed the green bullseye rhodactis from the rocks by trimming off a small portion of the rock it was attached to, and placed it next to the other rhodactises on the sandbed. I moved the frag plug of the orange rhodactis up and closer towards the leopard discosoma, and used the space left behind to accomodate my forest fire rhodactis: All that shuffling around was necessary because the green bullseye rhodactis was slowly moving up the rocks and attempting to sting (?) the orange rhodactis. It's a bit odd, considering most shrooms tend to get along next to each other, except the hairy ones. 🤔 Either way, I didn't want to lose either coral, hence the shuffle. The shrooms are still sulky. But they *should be okay in a few days. 👍 2 Quote Link to comment
