Speedy has gained more confidence and is now out in the open. Eating like a champ too. 👍

Picked up 8 new zoa & paly frags today from the LFS:

20220511_164355.thumb.jpg.103e5264654e9361e57b30e0ab9d1a95.jpg

Also made a third Zoa Ledge:

20220511_174429.thumb.jpg.42b33acf8e8b560bcb69ddb9f0e36ae9.jpg

And pissed off literally everything in one half of the tank due to all the moving around and excessive gluing. 😕

My tank's a mess and in complete chaos. A lot of polyps are still closed/shrunken, and I moved Zoa Ledge #2 to the forefront of the tank, on the sandbed:

(^Note the freebie favia frag on the sandbed - it was a gift from the store! 🥰)

Chaotic garden:

A few of the new morphs did partially open up after a while. I don't know *all the names of the morphs, but a few of them are Sakura (Gold), Incinerator, Radioactive Pink Cat Eye, Rainbow Yodas, Blue Agaves, Green Bay Packer and more. 👍

I know this is a terrible pic, but I was not happy over how messy everything was in the tank. So I used my extra long forceps and shuffled a few things around.

20220511_213917.thumb.jpg.6b233df8d8c5e29647c5cc1c5cb8329b.jpg

I returned Zoa Ledge #2 back to its original position, which is *slightly under Zoa Ledge #1 (main).

I did move a few tiny rocks under Ledge #2 to support it properly and avoid it from tipping over.

I also brought the new Zoa Ledge I made today (#3) to the forefront and placed it on the sandbed. I moved the Paly Tower as further back as possible to accomodate this new rock. I angled my large clump of GSP to face the corner of the tank, towards the cloves.

If I add more zoas in the future, I will remove that entire GSP clump from this tank & add it to my 60G to make more room on the sandbed.

The GSP looks pretty, but it has become quite invasive and actually *stings or grows over nearby corals. I have to trim it frequently, but it's like that one wild child in the family which you could never truly control. 😅

I still need to scrape the glass to take proper pics of the new polyps, which *should open up in the upcoming days.

My new fascination favia is rather tiny and seems to flip over in the flow rather frequently, so I'll glue it to a small piece of LR rubble tomorrow to weigh it down. 👍

Your 5anknis amazing. Kind of what I'm aming for every surface with something growing on it. Waiting for pics when everything calms down.

Hope you don't mind me asking - but what is 5anknis? Is it a reef-term?

I'm constantly learning new things in this hobby, which is why I love reefing so much. There's so much to read up and research out there.

It does take a while to get all the surfaces encrusted with one coral or another. I do have to snip off a few paly polyps every now and then though, because they have a tendency to grow over the other morphs. It's like...tending to an underwater garden, in a way. A lot of pruning here and there to keep everything in balance.

I think everything should settle down within the next WC, which should be up in a few days. I'll try to make an effort to scrape the glass though, but I won't be surprised if some of the polyps remain retracted. Zoas can be very finnicky in a new environment.

No lol it's my phone and auto incorrect....its cracked and sometimes types randome letters or numbers. Guess I missed that. It should be "tank is" there fixed it.

Ah, okay - my bad! 😅

New zoas have finally opened up, but most of the older corals are still throwing a tantrum over being shuffled around the tank yesterday. 😅

I believe the six new morphs I picked up are radioactive pink cat eye, (gold) sakura, blue agaves, rainbow yoda, green bay packers & space monsters (?).

Fascination favia  at the bottom right corner:

Just took these after the lights turned on - I stuck 2 new zoa morphs to this rock yesterday. One appears to be a regular pink cat eye (or maybe pink diamonds?), but I'm unsure. 🤔

Another is simply a new Butt Muncher polyp to replace the older ones that were lost.

Most of the zoas and palys are still annoyed, but this pic was taken right after I turned the lights on, so everything is still shrunken and in the midst of opening up.

I think the corals would stop sulking in a day or two. I'll be fragging off that lone metallic nuclear polyp on the left side of the Zoa Ledge - this morph is invasive and packs a sting, so I don't want it to overtake the other corals on the ledge. 👍

I moved the corals around again during maintenance. This time, I'm quite satisfied over how everything is positioned, so I'm leaving it be. The Zoa Garden has 3 layers/tiers now, with each Ledge making up a tier. 🥰

The bottom most tier is Ledge #3, with 6 of the newest morphs:

I had to move my duncan towards the left side of the tank to accomodate the latest changes. And I moved my Red PEs up and positioned them right under the main Zoa Ledge #1. 😊

I didn't touch the Sunny Ds cluster, but I did place one of the old freebie monti frags (which wasn't doing too well against the GSP wall) behind it.

20220512_173704.thumb.jpg.48df98bafb27891bc017f43ee5e390ac.jpg

I did shift the Starburst Green Implosions a little. The polyps can be viewed more clearly now:

20220512_180711.thumb.jpg.13782fdd83b2f1f6d69ac42e3c26222e.jpg

All the shuffling and pruning did upset several corals throughout the tank. So I plan on doing a WC tomorrow, a day ahead of schedule. I'll be swapping out the old floss and carbon for new ones as well. 👍

Forgot to mention - I fragged off the few Peacock blues polyps from the plug and glued it down next to the Fire & Ice polyps on Ledge #2. It was slowly melting away, so I did my best to try and salvage it. 🤐

The new fascination favia is still quite retracted. It appears a bit of flesh is missing along one edge too. I managed to glue it down to a small piece of LR, but it will take a while to bounce back. 👍
