Snow_Phoenix
A few early morning pics. Some sticks and caps. 😊 Valida tips up close: Forest fire garden: Pavona making a comeback! Montis side-by-side: ^Can you spot Pickle too? 👀 4 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Pickle! 🥰 Some shrooms for a change: I'm experiencing some minor issues with bleaching with 2 corals - the green leptastrea (which was already not doing too well) has paled out a little to light green, and the center of one of my forest fire rhodactises has turned pale too. In both cases, the bleaching occured between the day I scraped the glass (remember the icky algae I siphoned out? 🤢) and the day I WCed the tank as usual. My guess is the nitrates and phosphates shot up too quickly after I *cleaned the tank, then plummeted too quickly when I WCed the tank. The imbalance in levels *might have caused issues with these two, more sensitive corals - luckily most of my tank pulled through okay. 👍 I'll be more careful the next time I clean & WC the tank. Perhaps, breaking down the maintenance routine into several smaller sessions as opposed to one large session will be better for my nano's health in the long run. 🤔 3 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
A small throwback to a YCG pair I kept in my nano in 2015. 😊 3 2 Quote Link to comment
Reefkid88
I dislike the fact that YCG's nip at sps because I want a pair so bad. But I guess a pair of Neon or Sharknose gobies my next tank lol. 2 Quote Link to comment

Reefkid88
The simple fact that they perch on everything is great lol. I love it. Congrats on TOTM too !!! 1 Quote Link to comment

Yes! I had a wonderful green one too that was quite bold and used to perch on everything, including the glass walls of the tank. 😅 And thank you. 😊 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Pickle lounging in her brain coral last night. My phone camera can't focus on moving subjects very well at night, so she's quite blurry in these shots. 👀 3 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Pic-heavy updates coming through! 🥰 Yuma pile: Merlettis: Duncan: Forest fire digi garden: GSP wall: Pavona-lepto combo: Peacock blues have melted away. Unsure why, but a few polyps are left on the frag, so I'm hoping they'll grow out again time: Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
Lastly, Pickle the clownfish! 🥰 She is still feisty as ever. Her new talbot damsel friend-to-be is doing well in QT so far. 😊👍 Hopefully Pickle will like her new friend! 👀 1 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Some throwback pics: This was how my brain coral used to look like when I first added it to this tank - shrunken with receded flesh at the edges and some base skeleton exposed: Also, if given the chance, I'd love to acquire another chocolate banded serpent starfish again. I truly miss my older one. 😔 1 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Siphoned out a lot of algae after scraping the glass. Used up nearly 2 rolls of tissue trying to soak up the film layer of algae on the surface of the water today. 😕 I still haven't WCed the tank, but will do so either tonight or tomorrow morning. Also, here's how the nano looks like under full whites: Not so colorful as compared to under blues, eh? 😅 4 1 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
Speedy the damsel has completed QT and has been added to her new home. 🥰 Pickle. 🥰 Also did a WC today. Most corals have already opened back up. 👍 3 Quote Link to comment
LazyFish
Are they getting along ok? 1 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
18 minutes ago, LazyFish said: Are they getting along ok? Yeah, so far from what I've observed, my clown is more content with staying close to her brain coral so she only swims off to snag a few pellets during feeding time. The damsel is still trying to pick out a shadowy corner/overhang/cave in the tank. She's quite tiny, so it's easy for her to get 'lost' in the nano. No bullying, chasing, nipping or odd behaviors from either fish. I think having the clown host something helped alleviate a lot of potential issues that *might have popped up by having 2 open-column swimmers in the tank. My original plan was to acquire a percher like a TSB or Pictus, but both are almost impossible to find in the current local market, and if found (in the case of the TSB), the price has been marked up ridiculously high. Also, the only store that provides such small, combtooth blennies has a history of velvet in their tanks. After going through hell with that disease in my 60G, and losing 17 fish (save 1), I'm skipping that particular store indefinitely no matter how tempting their livestock list is. I'll be sticking to my primary LFS for future purchases from here on out. 👍 I also don't have any plans to add a 3rd fish because the current dynamics between the 2 existing fish seem peaceful enough. 👍 3 Quote Link to comment
Tamberav
Speedy is so cute... they might be fine together.. I think you won't know until speedy grows up. My springer damsel and gramma like to 'mock' each other. No actual fighting but amusing displays of a gramma with a huge open mouth and a little damsel trying his best to have the spikiest hair and look impressive. 1 Quote Link to comment

Yeah, there's no way to actually tell until Speedy hits maturity. My clown can hold her own though. I've seen her shoo off my shrimp if they wander too close to my brain coral. 😅 1 Quote Link to comment
