kimdawg
Take care of yourself today. Your beautiful tank can wait a day. You are doing a lot of water moving right now with the fish in quarantine. 1 Quote Link to comment

I need to TTM my lionfish in QT today, so I'll be devoting most of my time to that. If I have extra time, I'll just clean the filter of the nano & replace the media, then do a proper WC tomorrow. 👍 From what I've observed in the past, a few extra days of stalling won't affect the overall health of the tank too much. Issues only start to arise beyond the 2.5 week mark. 3 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Well, I managed to squeeze in a bit of time in the morning to clean out the filter. But I did a lot of other work with the other animals, so I'm dead exhausted. I still have to TTM my lionfish before 4pm, so I have some downtime to rest atm. But I think I'll be pushing the WC of this tank tomorrow because I don't want to stress my ankle joint - which had began to flare up with mild pain during mid-morning. 🤔 Tank is okay. New zoas are doing well, although the rainbow yoda is a bit sulky. Geralt 🦀 knocked over the duncan so I had to shift it and *plant the coral properly in the sandbed. 🙄 I'll just keep up with dosing the tank as usual today. 👍 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Fed some of the larger LPS some krill today. Pickle was not too thrilled about the chunk of shrimp in her home, but settled down once the brain coral ingested it. 😅 I also completed my weekly WC. Tank's quite clean so far, and I'm thinking it's time to dose some live pods and rotifers to preserve the microfaunal diversity. Might also uproot some macro from the fuge of my 60G and give it a good swish in this tank to dislodge some critters. Still thinking about it. 🤔 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
Duncan from above - apologies if the pic is too bright. I was messing with the lighting and forgot to dial down the whites. 😅 Pickle loves her rainbow cushion! 🥰 Ironman shroom: 2 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
A mix of corals coming up! 😊 Yuma pile under heavy whites, mid-blues: Garf bonsai: Chili pepper monti-leptastrea combo: Merlettis getting comfortable: The mixed up, messy corner of the tank that I really love. 🥰 2 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Lastly, Mushroom Mountain. 🥰 3 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Tank is still waking up. A lot of polyps remain retracted: But I noticed one of my Devil's Armor polyps has developed a streak on purple on it. Not sure how. 🤷♀️ Sparkly: 1 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Shrooms still have flattened out fully yet: Bicolor lobo appears happy though! 😊 2 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Critters of Chaos! 🦀 Weeping willow from above: SPS: Yuma pile from above - had to play around with angles in this shot, and even then I couldn't capture their true colors. ☹ 1 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Duncan from different angles: New zoas have all opened up. Just waiting for them to grow out, and for the ledge to be encrusted in coralline: A part of the main Zoa Ledge: 1 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
I have a special treat for all of you. I decided to take some pics under actinics - full 100% blues, 0% whites - through the orange lens of a pair of coral viewing glasses. 😊 So here's a bit of colorful chaos for all of you. 🌺 1 1 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
And here are a few FTSes (on 17/5/22), under actinics: Hope you guys enjoyed it! 🥰 3 2 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Still growing out. We have a few stubborn Gold Mauls today that refused to open up fully. 😅 New radioactive pink cat eye polyp spotted! 👀 More new red nuclear death palys otw: Fascination favia on the road to recovery: Latest acan heads still growing out: Zoomed in & grainy pic ahead - Malayan rainbow acans finally have one tiny new head popping up: Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
My phone can't seem to process the ripples on the pavona, so it comes out smudged/smeared instead of smooth. Tried adjusting it in Lightshop to no avail. ☹ Jack-O-Lantern lepto: Green leptastrea has made a full comeback. A tiny part at the edge remains dead, but I *think it is possible for the coral to encrust over this area again, because it re-encrusted over the other dead parts: Bubbly yumas. 🥰 1 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Glass is filthy, hence the 'duller' colors today. It's like trying to take pics through a brown lens instead of a yellow one. 😕 Pickle. 🥰 Definitely a Critter of Chaos, this one: He even pulled down part of my GSP wall at the back. 2 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
New kH bottle arrived in just a day! 👍 I've also ordered extra Mg and Ca buffers, but that'll most likely take time to arrive since it is from a different vendor. I'm tentatively planning to WC the tank in 2 to 3 days, although I *might replace the media and scrape the glass a day earlier (to lessen the workload). Otherwise, the nano is doing well. Glass is a bit filthy, but no biggie. 👍 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Molting day for Geralt and Harvey! 🥰🦀🦐 2 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
After nearly 2 weeks, I finally did some basic maintenance. I suspect I'm dealing with dinos, but I'm unsure: I admit I haven't seeded the tank with any live microfauna for a while. Some of the coral colors (especially the yellows) are quite off, but most corals appear okay for now: I strained my left knee yesterday (yep, right after I recovered from my shoulder strain urgh 🙄), so I'm resting another day. I'm tentatively set on WCing the tank tomorrow though! 2 Quote Link to comment
aclman88
I wanted to ask, what are the settings on your light as well as the mounting height? I have this (which I think is the same light you have) on my 9to5 office build and am not sure a good light setting. I also think that having the light in the canopy is creating hot spots in the tank since it keep the light mounted about 3 inches above the waterline. Quote Link to comment
