Yeah, I adjusted ISO, but not shutter. I'll try to do both next time. Thanks for the tip! 😊👍 1 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Sunny Ds from above with 5 trumpet polyps (2 are hidden) : Finally can see my blue hornets again! 😊 Looks like I'll have prune the cloves again! They're cropping up quicker than a radioactive weed and really bugging my Butt Munchers & Incredible Hulks: Mini merlettis: Cloves: Yuma pile from above: Have a bit of bad news though - the green leptastrea is showing mild signs of BJD. I *might end up losing it. 😔 This piece was truly finnicky from the start - and *if it bounces back, the road to recovery will be a long one. 😕 1 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
This tank will be home to more Zoa & Paly morphs in the upcoming months. I reserved 19 frags at the LFS yesterday (the shrooms will be added to my 60G, not the nano though!) : And I managed to get ahold of some Sunflowers, Incinerator and Rainbow Yodas (among many others) in the mix - basically, some of the morphs that I *used to have in this tank, but were lost over time due to various reasons - including the nasty Zoa Pox. 😕 I'll be removing the small rock which is heavily encrusted with GSP on the far left of the tank & create a third Zoa Ledge to support the new pieces. I'll also frag more Purple Monsters from the main Zoa Ledge to create more 'room'. Definitely am looking forward to the new additions - even though they won't be picked up anytime soon. 😊👍 1 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Zoa Garden from above: More polyps on Zoa Ledge #2! 🥰 Ironman: Merlettis: Cleaned the filter & scraped the glass - full WC coming up tomorrow. 😊👍 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
WCed the tank today. I just noticed my snail had died sometime overnight - his shell was cleaned out though. Probably the handiwork of either Geralt the hermit or Harvey the saron shrimp. My GSP wall sort of flopped over and detached partially from the wall over the past few days. I *tried to glue the mat back to the wall, but I ended up smearing all glue all over the place like a clumsy little kid. 😕 I think I'll trim the detached part and let it re-grow. As for the excess glue, hopefully a few good scrapes will get rid of it. Speaking of glue (again), I managed to glue over the tiny little aiptasia that had been irritaing my Fire & Ice zoas and...accidently glued one polyp shut by mistake (!) 🤦♀️ Truly did *not have a fun time with the glue this morning. Urgh. 🙄 Tank overall looks okay otherwise. I spotted a new candy cane head, which brings it up to a total of six heads. There's a new Vampire in Drags polyp coming up as well. Since I lack snails in the tank atm, I'll have to stay atop basic maintenance to make sure the algae remains under control. I'll purchase two new snails for this tank the next time I drop by the LFS, which should be some time next month. Pickle the clownfish is very happy with her brain coral. Thinking of picking up a second fish - first choice will be a TSB (or equivalent small combtooth blenny like a Pictus! <-- my dream fish ), second choice will be a pygmy perchlet, third choice will probably be a very small goby like a Hi-Fin or Yasha. I'm actually quite hesitant on the sand-dwelling goby bit because there isn't much room on the sandbed for it, and it'll retreat to Shrimpy the YCBS's lair and cause a clash in territories. Shrimpy is usually very tolerant, but I have seen him chasing Harvey and Pickle off if they stray too close to his home. I can't think of any suitable perchers otherwise. A clown goby would be a good choice, but they have a habit of nipping SPS polyps and might disturb my forest fire digi garden. Guess a tiny blenny will ultimately be the best choice. 🤷♀️ 2 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Corals are still grumpy after WC, so not everything is fully open. Here are a few FTSes: Baby rainbow yuma is more defined and has stronger colors now. 🥰 Bubbly. 😊 Duncan. 4 1 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
Just now, Ratvan said: That first photo of Pickle emerging is precious She absolutely adores that coral. Never quite seen a clown this happy with a brain, of all things. I once had a baby clarkii that hosted a giant rhodactis shroom a long time ago. She'd rub herself against the shroom - exactly like Pickle does. 😊 2 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
Comfy rainbow pillow. 🥰 Also, the coral has fully healed from its injury. Was quite amazed by its resilience. I expected it to take months to recover fully, and it did so in approx. ~3 weeks. 🥰 4 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
On another note, this nanoreef has been featured in the latest issue of Reef Hobbyist Magazine (RHM) : The pics might be a tad old, but I'm glad both Pickle & Harvey - especially Harvey!!! - was featured. Given how saron shrimp are notoriously labeled as 'non-reefsafe' by multiple websites online, I'm hoping this would shed a *bit more light on this particular species (S. marmoratus) and its suitability in reeftanks. 😊👍 Remember, not *all species of Sarons are reefsafe, and LFSes tend to mislabel these shrimp. So *if any of you are interested in one, make sure it is the *correct species. (Also, I'm not accountable if any future saron shrimp purchases by anyone decides to get the munchies for corals. These shrimp are cryptic, but they need to be well-fed. And they do enjoy bits of macro, including chaeto, so I wouldn't recommend them for macro-dominant tanks. 👍) 5 1 Quote Link to comment
