William
I got my new top off container installed, I have it feeding into the existing top off reservoir right now, however I eventually plan to turn the stock one into a refugium. The vase can hold about 5 -6 gallons. When I get back in town I plan on finding a way to hide the tubing coming out of it. 9 Quote Link to comment
Arce
Never seen anyone use a vase like that for a ATO container. Pretty cool idea. 1 Quote Link to comment
William
It's actually a $39 glass vase from IKEA that I spray painted with krylon on the outside and the top 4 inches inside the vase. I'm fairly happy with the way it turned out. This is the vase: http://m.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/art/40223329/ 4 Quote Link to comment
William
Some Updates: I came home from my trip to find my tank in generally good condition, some of the macros that were growing have taken off quite a bit, so I had to trim them back and added an emerald crab. The Waspfish is out more and is now eating frozen, which Is a relief. The Rock is really starting to show a huge amount of diversity. There are more tunicates than i can count as well as things I have never seen before. Here are some pics of the Waspfish 1 Quote Link to comment
William
So even with the new impeller coral view sent our, I'm not completely satisfied with the skimmer production from my Icecap K2-50. It still produces decent skimmat but it just seems like the bubble density it was putting out when I first got it has steadily decreased. I know many retailers are having sales on the Aquamax skimmers, and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with them? Specifically I am looking at CO-1. Any thoughts? Quote Link to comment

William
Here are some pics with my new IPhone 7, I must say this camera is way better at taking pictures under LED light. The images have had no manipulation. Pictures were taken a few hours after my lights turn off, so most things are retracted The last picture is of this random thing growing on one of my rocks, any idea what it is? 3 Quote Link to comment
ninjamyst
i love my aquamaxx co-1. it's quiet and pulls out nasty stuff. although i notice in the last week, it has been skimming wetter than normal. 1 Quote Link to comment

William
Maybe I should get the WS-1 then.... the CO-1 would prob be overkill for a reefer nano.... Quote Link to comment
Water Dog
WS-1 is the in sump version of the HOB-1... killer skimmer! Quote Link to comment
William
WS-1 is the in sump version of the HOB-1... killer skimmer! Maybe I'll just get one of those ($115... so cheap), and if I have to I can augment with the Icecap K2-50. Having both skimmers in the sump would tK up less space than the CO-1... Also I have to give thanks to Russ at Gulf Coast Ecosystems (www.live-plants.com) for volunteering to reship my entire order from August (all of it died) and cover the cost of shipping. Amazing customer service! So I should have three new gorgs on Wednesday Quote Link to comment
William
New FTS And some others (taken with iPhone 7) All photos except the FTS are unedited. Anyone have any idea what the orange thing in the second to last picture is? 3 Quote Link to comment

metrokat
Like Maria said, these are colonial tunicates. Very cool. Curlicue Anemone This guy in the center is a mystery, would love to see a daylight picture. 2 Quote Link to comment
metrokat
The dimpled skin makes me think of montipora. I would have said if it glows under UV or actinic it probably is an SPS, but usually reds and pinks in SPs do not fluoresce. Quote Link to comment
William
It floresces, so should be interesting. It has a very bumpy appearance 1 Quote Link to comment
