HarryPotter
What's your light cycle look like on your radion? Hmm.. Just 7 hours of 12k with a ramp down on either side? Its just a schedule I've made up over time. Recently went up to 90% and might take it to 95% in a few weeks if I continue to get good results. In the past I burned things when I was at 90%, but this time I made a very slow acclimation from 50% (I know.... way too low!) to 90%. Looking good Harry! I wish I could of gotten that good of results with LEDs... Keep it up I think this has TOTM potential once everything grows out a little bit more. Thanks for sharing those wonderful pics of your monti. Thanks!!!! My only complaint with LEDs is that you need more (and more $$$) for the same coverage as T5s! Link to comment
Markburns43
I like your schedule, same time frame as mine, and layout ,everything's looking awesome Harry, Except the 90percent intensity, I'd be cooking Link to comment

This is a Gen 2 (non-pro) radion though, so the newer Gen 3 Pros are about double the power. Wide angle lenses diminish the par by about 30% as well Link to comment

More coverage and I knew them better than led Yep, I can see that. T5s are "Plug and play" with accepted tried and true bulb combos, whereas LEDs take a lot of experimentation and adjustment to get right! Optimally I would have another Radion to 100% get rid of shadowing and coverage issues, but that is a lot of $$$ Used Gen 2s are like $300 and the mount is $100. So for $400 I will settle with this Link to comment

Maybe I'll keep upping the peak a cpl % every week Link to comment

I think intensity isn't what you need on your setup - spectrum change is what you should experiment with. Link to comment

I just fiddled with the graph until I got something I like haha Link to comment

HarryPotter
Rodger, that's the first thing is adding in more whiteness More Whiteness= more par. Careful to not burn! Maybe reduce intensity and raise the Kelvin value? I like a 12k spectrum from my Radion, try that setting. Ill bring these to the new page. I like the orange one! Link to comment

HarryPotter
Loving that red planet (?) Thanks- yes I think its a red planet. Not sure though since I bought it as a tiny broken off tip from a new maricultured colony, (I got bashed hard for that!) but if I wanted to sell it I would use "Princess Peach" like a few seller out there and make a lotta $$$ haha Link to comment
jack1978
Man shit is coloring up like crazy! Thank you! I am still confused WHY things are growing and coloring up like this; it's the normal 5g water change per week and Ca/Alk supplement! Here are a few montipora I have on the rack Nice job, hairball. Everything looks great.....it's called stability. Keep doing the basics and leave your shit alone. Great color! PS.....your radion sucks. Link to comment

Yeah the white rack on the left island has to go... Need to mount those. The one on the back right doesn't really both me but I may soak it in vinegar to clean it up soon. Link to comment
got2envy
Yep!! I realized a lot of my desire for an ATI was based on people telling me how good it is compared to the Radion... But the Radion is awesome. Sure one or two of my acros have shading- but I can move them or just ignore that. Looking at my tank I can see that it's going very well- why change a good thing? Thanks! No Ocellaris here though, these are True Perculas Keep the Radion! ATI's get hot af and you have to hang them which is also a pain. I have seen many reefs and the Radions are the nicest lights on any tank. Tank looks great! dont change anything. Link to comment
PieMan2k
Only reason you should change your light is if your SS sent you an ATI fixture otherwise , KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK HARRY!! Link to comment
