well i like this.

Haha thanks!

Can I get some advice? Comments?

I think that I may need the Radion Wide Angle Lenses if I want to go the full 27".

I am hoping on SPS dominated with LPS on the outskirts, and some softies on the sand.

Oh and Lucinda, my clam!

Tomorrow is water day!

Getting 45 gallons of agua sal and kick starting the tank with 40lbs live sand and a small piece of LR from my NanoCube.

I'm hoping I'll get an instant cycle, but will see. After all, I don't have any fish ATM so the expected ammonia supply is minimal.

Thanks both of you!

Sorry I can't quote both of you- Iphone problems!

PROBLEM: I can't fit the DJ Powerbar in the stand! I've tried a gazillion angles but am not happy with any of them. It's too long!

I might just have to get another EB8 and ditch the Powerbar all together- what do you think?

See above :P

EB8 would be much more useful. If it was me, EB8 all the way. Can't beat automation.

Yeah but price wise the DJ power bar is like $30 and easier to use for a lot of thing as

For maintenance or for unusual stuff, I prefer the power bar (individual switches) to shut on/off equipment WITHOUT getting my phone (which probably has a dead battery) to do it :P

This AIO has a TON of room for tech :-)

I'm going to get a nice doser and a custom ATO supply that can hopefully have around 15 gallons

I HAVE WATER IN THE TRUNK

Also have 40lbs sand, so 338+40= 390lbs!

Who needs a gym when you have a reef tank?

First picture- the stand is built! Single RMS attached, and the tank on top :)

Second- a closer picture!

Here is the tank in its final location, like it?

Filling with water, and here is 40 lbs of sand :)

Here is a close up of the stand. The power bar will be mounted, but you can see the reactor.

And here is where I'm at! Waiting for the sand to settle and my ReefCleaners rock to come in before doing the transfer\ :)

I am torn about if I should use the LR from my NanoCube. It does not have pests that I am aware of, but DOES have some hair algae.

Should I consider attacking it with a toothbrush and then putting it in the new tank? I am buying 30lbs ReefCleaners (Coming on monday :) ) that will supplement it.

I would attack it with a toothbrush and move it over, thats what I did when I just transferred tanks.

Thank!

So you took off the corals first? Then just scrubbed away and added it to the new tank?

Im stressed.... I don't want to harm my Maxima Clam or shock it. Ill see :(

Yes I took off all my coral which was a pain because most of them were glued on.

as far as the clam I would just make sure the water your moving it to has the same salinity and temp, and it should be just fine.

I was so stressed when I moved mine as well but I used all my old tank water plus 5 gallons news water and all my rock and sand, plus 20 more lbs of sand, and everything came out perfect.

So far all the water is new, with "perfect" parameters. The sand is all new too, but I put in a used sponge (filled with bacteria) in to get everything going. I REALLY don't want to go through another cycle, so depending on how the RL-45 clears up I may or may not put everything in tomorrow.

If everything new and you decide to put the rock in tomorrow I would move the corals over slow just to see how they do. And if they look ok move your inverts(clam) over last once everything looks stable. If you have that option.

Thats a great idea, leaving the old tank run for a week or so. The only issue is that the lighting has to be transferred with the corals/clam...

I am going to wait until I have all the ReefCleaners rock (On Monday), when I will make the scape and transfer all the LR. The corals can stay on the sand bed (Or on small plastic dishes) in the old tank until I am confident enough.

Its a mixture of both ideas, but sounds good.

Serious thanks to Addinali!

I'll be taking careful notes for if/when I ever upgrade my tank and need to move stuff over. Prepare for the snot storm!!

Your welcome Harry, I have made several tank moves/upgrades working in a saltwater fish store for a few years and having my own tanks for 15 years.
