well this seems like the place to go for info on a mantis, i msure some of these questions have been answered but theres 90+ pages here, n im really lazy

so, my questions are

what size tank is a minimum for any kinda of mantis

what kinds of things can you feed em

and is there anything else i should know about them?

im thinkin about maybe getting one for my dorm this year or next

for any mantis a 30-40g tank would due. most of the mantids you'll find(outsided of a peacock) would be fine in a 10g though.

white shrimp soaked in any vitamin additive along with the occassionaly live food will do

they're relatively easy to care for although there will be an occasional bad molt ime. :(

so heres a question

what do you use as a cuc?

i mean, it eats basically anything u could use for one

i might get like a 10g long n get something small

im debating

well after having talked to the guys at the LFS (who had no clue what kind of mantis they had - they just had one) it turns out they had a 4"+ Peacock - so too big for my 10G anyway.....
