I took a few close up pics today for a change. And I spotted something that was a tad mind-boggling. 👀

 

That is a heavily discolored Oompa Loompa polyp. I assumed the whole bunch had melted away in my tank, bjy it turns out one lone polyp had survived long enough to make a comeback! 😊

 

It's still very washed out and dull, but all these *fancy morphs have a tendency to *sulk longer than the regular morphs. I hope this one colors up in the upcoming months though!

 

 

^I'd love to fill up all those empty patches with more zoa morphs. Also, can you spot Spark the molly? 👀

 

I've been discussing with my LFS Manager on how to purchase animals (including trading in corals) from his store in the future, and we've agreed upon using a local courier service to transport the critters to and fro. 

 

I just have to ask what's available per shipment (or give a list), the use the courier to pick up my new livestock. 😊

 

The courier fee is quite reasonable too, so this will save me a lot of time, hassle and stress needed to make the journey to the store (not that I could, given the distance, but it's nice to try & think about that slim possibility).

I had to move the shrunken red pineapple tree coral from my 60G to this tank today. It was faring very poorly in the big tank and scaled back to 1/5th of its original size. 😞

 

It would eventually melt away, so I tried to salvage the nub and glued the tiny bit of rock it was on (I pried off a chunk from the base rock in my 60G using coral cutters) to one of the rock pieces in my nano. 

 

 

I was quite surprised to see it with full PE within minutes of being placed in my tank. 🥰

 

 

 

It'll grow massive though, but I'll try to frag it when the time comes. 👍

 

I still have some pesky red flatworms on my shrooms though! 👀

 

 

I keep forgetting to siphon them out with a pipette. 😅

 

I scraped the glass too! Tank looks much cleaner, but is already due for the next weekly WC soon.

Hi Snow

Your new leather looks like one I have from World Wide Corals. Mine was just labeled as a "specked leather". I have fragged it a couple times and it seems to grow well everywhere I place it.

Two thumbs up on that Digi Forest it looks fantastic.

I used to have a finger leather several years back which looked similar to this leather, but wasn't the same either. I can't recall what sort of leather 'name' it had though. I bet yours is pretty too, regardless. 🌺

Just did some extensive weeding to get rid of the GHA menace. Not quite sure I succeeded, because there are patches of the icky algae here and there. 😕

 

I did however, manage to perform the weekly 80% WC and do some media replacement. I took some pics pre-WC, but they're on my phone and I'll upload them later (too tired atm, and my back is strained, so I need to rest it out).

 

Spark the molly appears very happy after the WC though! Lil' guy has tripled in size so far, and is enjoying life to the fullest in the nano. 

My corals are still cranky post-WC, but should mellow by tomorrow. Oh, and Mr. Shrimpy the YCBS had another successful molt overnight. Can't believe he's 2+ years-old already! 😄

I'm guessing the flesh retracted quite a fair bit since the lepto was left exposed to air for quite a bit while I shuffled pieces around and refilled the tank.
