Snow_Phoenix
Full PE on the forest fire digi garden: Trumpet coral: Metallic nuclear palys: Christmas favia: Yuma: Buddies: Still recovering: 1 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
The topview shots are a bit hazy because the surface of the water is a tad oily. But the sideview pics came out okay (I think). Here's the trumpet coral: Orange cloves: Zoa mix: 2 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Lime green monticap: Red nuclear death palys: Green leptastrea: Shroom overlap! 🥰 4 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Dropped by the LFS today to pick up 10kg of IO salt and a new HOB filter (older one burnt out this morning). Also traded in some of my corals for 11 frags at the store - 7 zoas, 2 shrooms & 2 leathers. 👍 New frags: All the new zoas (not opened fully yet) : I'm not happy at sight of the ugly large frag plugs, so I'll trim those down and reglue some of the frags to the rocks. Tank is still a little upset since I just WCed it yesterday. I'm quite tired though. Any tinkering will have to be done tomorrow. 😕 5 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
The two new shrooms - a cherry red discosoma & a green/orange bounce rhodactis: Weeping willow toadstool: Green-polyped brown leather toadstool: New turbo snail that I picked up: FTS today on 07/08/23: An angry tank full of angry corals. All that last-minute fragging pissed everything else off. Will need a few more days (or 1+ week) before everything perks up again. 😕 The heat (weather) isn't helping either. A lot of my animals are quite stressed, so I have been trying my best to cool everyone down with various methods. 5 Quote Link to comment
ml86743
Pics look great! Hey Snow, question for you..Ever see your leptastrea do this? Started to bubble up a month or so ago and has since added polyps to said bubble haha. Still encrusting from the base too and doing wonderfully..just curious if you had seen something like this? 2 Quote Link to comment

That looks so cool! 😄 When I first brought my leptastrea frag home, it had a similar projection/bulge, albeit smaller. Over time it flattened out as it encrusted over the rocks. I'm unsure what caused the bulge though. 🤷♀️ 1 Quote Link to comment

Thanks! 2 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
I trimmed off the excess glue and block(y) frag plugs. Some of the new zoas & palys still haven't opened up fully. But I really love the blue one with a striped pink skirt. Not sure what it's called, but sure looks pretty. 🥰 There are still many empty patches on the ledges which can be filled up with new morphs. Just waiting for my LFS to restock their supply so that I can pick up new frags in the future. Older corals are doing okay. 👍 My duncan: 3 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
New rhodactis has opened up a tad more: Bubbly yuma: Gold-spotted discosoma: FTS today on 08/09/23: 4 2 Quote Link to comment
Murphs_Reef
Really coming in well.. I'm still looking for the empty patches your talking about though lol .. all I can see is zoas... Can't even which one you mean to ID it (blue striped pink skirt) there is too much going on for my old eyes 🤣 3 1 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
New rhodactis fitting in very well with the rest of the shrooms in Mushroom Mountain. 🥰 Rainbow brain coral: One of the leathers has finally showed some PE today! 🥰 ^Also, does anyone know what that bright blue zoa/paly (next to my shroom, at the top center) is called? 🤔 My LFS manager has forgotten. But I'm curious. Looks very pretty, and very few were available at the store. 1 Quote Link to comment

I decided to venture back on NR and see who was still here! 🙂 Glad to see people like you and Snow still keeping tank threads going! Yes, I'm safe on O'ahu but know a few friends on Maui who lost their homes, cars, and pets, it's absolutely devastating and by far the worst natural disaster to hit in decades. Even the skies on O'ahu are hazy from the dust and smoke. 4 Quote Link to comment

The shrooms have all fully opened up, but some of the zoas are still shrunken/closed/bleached, unfortunately. Some are also still discolored. I think most of them should recover with a few more WCs in the future. Also, glad to know you're safe. I read about the wildfires online - it was horrible. 😢 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
The new HOB filter was vibrating rather loudly last night and given how ultra-sensitive I am to sound/vibrations/noise, it was disturbing my sleep so I turned it off. It remained off for nearly ~11 hours, but the tank was fine since my wavemaker provided enough flow overnight. I'll see if I can adjust the motor later to dim the noise. 🤔 I took a few pics yesterday as well. My new tiny leathers have some nice (but not full) PE: New zoas seem to be opening up fully too: New shroom is buried under all the other layer of shrooms though! 😅 Zoa Ledge from above: 1 1 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Caught Geralt rocking a new hairstyle. 🦀 Red fungias next to pavona frags: The main pavona frag: Duncan: Gold-spotted shrooms. 🥰 2 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
More PE from the weeping willow today evening: I took the rest of the pics using orange filter lens under 100% blue. The same weeping willow: Gold-spotted shroom: 1 Quote Link to comment
