I haven't had it over the tank yet as I do not have the tank in my possession, but it should. Dave used to use a similar material in place of the clear lens and it worked very well. Also AI uses a diffused optic in the Hydra that is very close to the LED and it works to diffuse the light. Running it pointed at the wall it is a very noticable difference, so hopefully that tranfers to the tank. 1 Quote Link to comment

Yeah I dismounted the AI lens I know what you mean but still, the disco ball effect was very noticeable on a shallow tank. Thats why I made my own diffuser on top of that to eliminate it.
