Deleted User 3
Still love your tank Kat I feel like less of a noob these days, but a REALLY HUGE noob when I look at your, hrvanni, gena, pat & jedi's tanks...lol because they're all so fancy and pretty... Quote Link to comment
metrokat
Sounds like a plan. A little drastic, but at this point.... I know Yes I was thinking we had that pattern nailed, but I'm still weirded out by it sticking at 6.1 for 36 hours. However if you average it out, it seems like slightly less than 1 dKH per day is a good baseline. Maybe take out the Halimeda, and do one more WC to get it back into the 6.4 (or ideally higher) range then let it go for a week? It will still drop because of your coral but maybe we can say it's happening at a slower rate. Btw I don't know if this will change anything, except perhaps your final dosing plan? Even without Halimeda you will need Kalk and 2-part IMO. But we can maybe figure out how much additional 2-part is needed with Halimeda vs. without it. Ian. I thought about it. I'm not going to remove my Halimeda. I have a good baseline for the tank and its consumption which includes the Halimeda. It is easier for me to dose with all of it included than to re invent the wheel again. Sorry. Quote Link to comment

Thank you. I'm sure Pat and Jedi would consider their tanks manly. My inspiration tanks are ReHype and MedRed, with Aquanist having the stuff of dreams (pic below). Newman used to have a Pico on here but he tore down in April. My crowning glory rock with the big green birdsnest and emerald zoanthids are from his tank. Aquanists tank: Quote Link to comment

Rollermonkey
^Neither. Those tanks are far more mature and grown in than ours. Quote Link to comment
kgoldy
I hate when you finally wash them and they don't fit right. Wash 'em in cold water, my friend. Then dry it on "delicate" setting. Turn jeans into pajama pants comfy in just a few weeks that way (1 week wear, then wash on Sunday). Hey Kat, when are you getting a bigger tank already? Sheesh. Quote Link to comment
MeepNand
Manly tanks? I win, and i'm not even an adult. Quote Link to comment
metrokat
Parameters are holding steady, albeit at the low end of the range, I am manually dosing 2 part. The B-Ionic doser isn;t very practical so I'm looking for BRS dosers, I'm purchasing today. Still looking for Soda Ash and Calcium Chloride. Quote Link to comment
metrokat
I'm pulling a Kristofer and inviting all to my place for a Frag party. You Frag, I say thank you. Quote Link to comment

metrokat
HOW DO THESE THINGS HAPPEN TO ME? I just spoke to THE Julian Sprung! omgomgomg My call log says we spoke for 9 minutes and 53 seconds. SWOOOON THUD! Why not just buy the big DIY 2 part pack with dosers straight from BRS? I don't want the mag supplements or the mixing jugs and mesures. Anyway I bought 2 dosers from Criley7 this morning YAY! Off to Home Depot to find Ice melter. Julian Sprung was SO nice! And he said my ALK falling to 6.1 is normal, not to stress, that I should dose C balance. Quote Link to comment
