Utahpico
Thanks! I try. I'm just really trying to leave it alone and let things grow and fill in. It's hard. 1 Quote Link to comment
Utahpico
BIG CHANGES ARE COMING! Its a pico so basically changing the rock to a new structure, using Florida dry rock, or real reef rock. I want a cool new look to go with tanks new location and setup. It used to be hidden away on the kitchen counter, now in the living room by the front door for all to see. 1 Quote Link to comment

Rene
Curious to see how that light works out for you! No blues at all? If you like the look, it may not be necessary for the corals. I was thinking if using a similar LED screw-in bulb for a macro tank so I will be curious how this works for you. Quote Link to comment
Utahpico
light is a 12w grow bulb, by miracle led, says it's a special "NASA" blend of blue and white for ultimate growth and spectrum. I just got it for the size so it would fit nicely into the desk lamp without showing, and man! I'm blown away, It's a great light, I'm impressed. Just had to separate the light diffuser for more light. It's 2:1 ratio 460-470nm blue and neutral white. 3 1 Quote Link to comment

Rene
Oooh! Interesting! The new bulb does give you very good color rendition. Quote Link to comment
Utahpico
All done for now, everything looks great, as long as the wife is happy with it. Next is a cobalt 25w heater to replace my 100w aqueon, maybe a different pump. I would love to get the aquamai Los, but it's 350gph with is way too much! And finding a few nice pieces of rock. I'm going to simplify it more, get rid of zoas that grow like weeds all over the place, and get a frog spawn, green hammer and more sps. 4 Quote Link to comment

Utahpico
everything is closed up, cause I just turned the light on for this pic, it's more blue than my usual purple from my royal blue, I like it more this way. And there is a plant on right side that gets light from tank. 2 Quote Link to comment
Utahpico
New rock to add to tank. Won't be adding for a few months. I wanted something fresh, and less corals more negative space to showcase my bigger coral pieces. Maybe a small zoa garden that i can control so it doesn't overgrown my tank. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
Utahpico
When I lived in Hawaii I would get my own rock, and I would get choice pieces that were completely covered in purple or maroon, coraline algae I just love the look and don't have much luck with coraline growing in my tank, so artificial it is, looks real, I took my time making sure it had a good mix of purple and pink. Christopher Marks
The whole new setup looks great @Utahpico, the lamp pairs so well with that little tank. I still can't believe how well that LED grow bulb worked out too! How is everything settling in to the new aquascape? Quote Link to comment

I glued some rock together, painted it purple, krylon plum, and purple to get an accurate color, baked it, let it dry a week then soaked it a week. And not a single issue. And the light is working great as Well. 1 Quote Link to comment
Utahpico
Added a pump that i got for my new tank build it's a little much but corals and fish are loving it jebao pp4 3 Quote Link to comment
Christopher Marks
Wow now that's some surface movement! Have you noticed an increase in evaporation with the new pump pointing upward? The torch coral sure seems to like it! Quote Link to comment
Utahpico
I honestly haven't noticed, if anything I have been adding less top off water, but the weather has dropped this week. Pump I had in there for the last year was only pushing 80gph this is at least triple 1 Quote Link to comment
