a little annoyed. Big Red has walked all

over this rock and dropped at least 5 babies

(you see four of them in foto, i believe) but also

has proceeded to smother a nice gold iron mushroom

right beneath it. i've seen the iron man try to

stretch into the light, etc. but sometimes it's just

shrunken and sad. i wish it'd walk out from beneath

Big Red's shadow, but what can you do?

you can see my naked duster in the forefront

with my super saiyan zoas--haven't grown at all,

but incredibly, not dead. ha! although the one closed

one looked weird after my tank cleaning today. we'll see.

I will take the red shrooms off your hands. that will solve your problem :D My 34 needs some color.

SANCHO ALWAYS SO GENEROUS. haha!

unforunately, ALL my shrooms just about are on this

rock--including the gold ironman. *grumbles* i've half

a mind to rip off Big Red, but he is a really pretty shroom.

booger giant monster shroom.

Is your naked duster still completely naked?!?

yep! i tried burying him a few times but he just

wiggles out of the sand. i think it takes A LOT of energy

to make a tube. so he just wiggles in the tub with his

one zoa friend (a RDE zoa that came loose) and the

super saiyans.

i think if i let him loose, he'd die. i can spot feed

him really easy in the tub.

hello friends! it's hard to believe that my

tank is at 36 weeks exactly tomorrow!

what a journey it's been. here is a FTS from

today. crowded like hong kong as ever! ha!

36weeksfts.jpg

the giant boring brown mushrooms

on the left (two of them) i had gotten originally

for my JAR. they somehow managed to survive

that, and the one mushie split into two. then,

after disasterous babysitting episode at LFS,

they were completely bleached. and i managed

to nurse them back to health.

they might be getting too big for the tank soon.

hope they stop growing. ha! i stopped spot feeding

them a long while back.

ultranemskirt.jpg

my ultra nem was inexplicabley injured a few weeks back.

the skirt on top melted or got eaten, i don't know what.

maybe it was warfare? i don't know. but it is where the stubble

is on top intead of full barbs. she had that injured side curled

closed for some time, and i was relieved when she unfurled

it and is eating regularly again.

my red mouthed ric florida is acting pissy and shrinking.

i have no idea what's going on. :( but the new yuma and

the orange florida (seen in above foto) are both doing great.

Red mushrooms are prolific reproducers, good thing they're such a pretty color.

isn't that the truth? it stopped dropping babies because

it had no where else to walk. ha!

Happy 36 week birthday, Cindy! I'm glad everything is doing so well.

I have the same kind of red mushrooms. Every couple months I commit red mushroomicide with boiling water and an eyedropper, when the water level is low during water changes. They always come back. I enjoy them as long as they aren't too big and trying to smother everything else.

And I wish my two big red mushies would grow . They've just been two for like 2 years now!

And congrats on the 36 week mark :flower:.

welcome back, john! have missed you!

and back surgery is no joke. it takes time to recuperate.

hope you're wife is healing well!

Big Red is getting quite monstrous!!!

thank you, gena!

like kat said, thank goodness it is a very pretty color!

my ironman gold tries its best to contort to get some

light beneath Big Red, i probably can move it--will

investigate during next cleaning.

but Big Red is huge!!

i think you have plenty of other less common things

that grow well in your tank, gena. haha

Tank is looking great! Still jealous of those RFAs!!!! Imagine the face my gf gave me when I asked her if we could take a trip to SD for a fish store LOL...some people don't understand

Happy birthday, tank  whoo boy, that red mushie is huge! The FTS really puts it in perspective.

he is! and i don't think he's fully expanded in that foto. ha!

i've lost my gold ironman shroom under Big Red. augh!

i'm mad. i've never had this happen before. it just disappeared.

maybe it detached and floated off? likely. :( i was going to try

and move it in my weekly cleaning in a day or two. too late. wah.

It might have floated off somewhere. I've had a tiny piece of ricordea that keeps detaching and randomly reappearing. I gave up trying to glue it down

i have found him! he is squished on the side of the

rock work against the glass. hmm. not sure if i should

move him. i haven't had a chance to get some water yet

for next cleaning.

oh, i my critique group also told me how much they

loved the pages i sent for this week, then proceeded

to rip me a new one. ha! gotta love it. *cries*

so much work to do revising!

Yeah, in my writing experience I've learned to pretty much ignore the initial feedback of "great job!" until I actually see what the detailed edits and comments say :tears: On the other hand, I vastly prefer doing revisions to staring at a blank sheet of paper :)

I'm glad you found your mushroom. They will go where they want to live in the long run :D

Yay, glad you found the mushie! Is he attached to the rock/glass/substrate or just sort of settled on top? That might factor into whether you get to move him or not

Didn't you say you like revising though? :P I hate it. I'm all squee and sadness atm because my short story came back with a personal rejection. It was very sweet and encouraging, but at the same time I'm like :(omgomgomg:tears::happydance:

i DO like revising. but i feel like i've tried multiple

times and still haven't gotten it. augh. it's that part

that is so frustrating. i don't have to work as hard for

my fantasies. ha!

did you get an encouraging rejection though? were there

any personal notes? congrats! it is weird to say, but

sometimes, you never hear back. and the more rejections

you collect, the closer you get to selling. :)

ALL weriters get rejections. even gaiman. he said so!

like NOW he even gets rejections.

hello friends!

i found my ironman gold mushroom, it floated

to the bottom against the glass--impossible for me

to get without removing major scape, so i'm just going

to leave it be for now. augh.

some of my shrooms are getting huge, but thankfully,

they seem to be able to live near each other, so i've

got a mushroom corner in the tank, by Big Red. :)

sorry for the lack of posts and visiting--so busy!

gearing up for a big book con in NYC next weekend.

not enough writing time either!!

It was a very encouraging rejection, hence the feeling of excitement along with the usual "aw shucks" of getting rejected. Been fortunate so far and always heard back, though no acceptances. I think the never hearing back is worse when querying agents--heard a lot of horror stories of waiting endlessly for months upon months, ignored follow up emails, etc.

Hope your Iron Man mushie flourishes where it is. :) though, sad it can't hang out in the mushie corner

No picture? :)

i am too lazy. and it looks too pathetic! poor thing.

i tried to get my little tank chopstick hook thing there,

but can't reach. i'm too lazy to diamantle rock work for him.

the close calls are actually the worse.

you can almost taste it.

but you JUST started, so the fact that your

first sub returned with personal reject is pretty

amazing. keep on and good luck, jaime!!

TERRIBLE NEWS FRIENDS.

i saw wilma and fed her this morn. and

i saw her swimming around--then she was not.

now wilma is ALWAYS in the water column during

the day. it is STRANGE for her not to be seeing in

the day. i thought maybe she hid for a bit.

now a few hours later. still no WILMA. no fish around

the tank, the top is completely covered.

i had to move my yuma from my RFA a bit, and poked

behind crevices to try and stir her out if she's hiding.

nothing. :(

i think i must have lost wilma just a few weeks in.

i don't know what happened. i hate an empty

tank without fish, but jeez. what crap luck i have. :tears:
