cindyp
Oh no! Prayers for Fred (and you). There's hope if he's still breathing. i tried to look up how long a fish can last out of water, but it seems to depend on the fish and situation, etc. thank you, john. all good wishes appreciated. sorry for the recent tank woes, Cindy. Sending Fred good vibes. thanks, jaime. wah! Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Really sorry to hear about all your troubles, Cindy. That nem was exceptionally gorgeous - so sorry to hear she kicked it. And I'm sure Fred will pull through, although he might be stressed for a while. Link to comment
DocReef
Just started following your thread. Great tank, love your flower nems, but they have always intimidated me. Sorry about the recent woes. Hope your little goby makes it. I too am in SD. Link to comment

I too am in SD. hi fellow SDian! well, i get all my RFA from ASD. so when you're down south, go visit! they still have great stock. i've had NO issues with any RFA except for this pinke skirted one. they don't wander once they settle, and they spot feed well. they are also beautiful. i'd say give it a try! i still have four in my 8g tank. thank you for visiting and commenting! Sancho
I never buy anything that Will just got in. As tempting as it is I prefer to wait till he has had it for at least a few weeks. Some of the stuff he gets is very rare. Thats because it does not do well in aquariums. Sorry to hear about the nem they are usually pretty hardy. But I have found that if it is supper pretty and no one else has it outcome is it wont last. Fred will probably do just fine my watchman goby named Carl jumped a few years ago wife found him just before the dog was going to eat him. As she was about to flush him she noticed movement in the gills and put Carl back in the tank. He was super stressed for a good week but is still alive and having his weird relationship with his shrimp to this day. Link to comment
NorthGaHillbilly
The wrasse was out of water for ~15 min id guess the worst time, the other two I was right there, jumped when the return came back on and scared him. He looked pretty rough the longest time, but was back to normal the next day. Link to comment

WAH! poor fred. Sorry to hear about Fred- hope he makes it through thank you very much! Link to comment

cindyp
hello friends! here is an 8 month fts after my major cleaning (before the jumping disaster) and removing of a large live rock beginning to be infested with encrusting white sponge. i bought another one, but it is smaller. i might go get another to stack on top of the flat (new) live rock in the middle. but for now, after the death, mayhem, and trauma, i'm leaving things be. also, i'll be away for about five days for author events, so even though this is not the prettiest 8 month fts, and things are pissy at me, it'll have to do for now. i talked to ASD about the persistent hydroids issue on the base of my dendro that was creeping up, too. and he said to smother it with poxy. i hope it works! that's what i did. 8 months in and i think the only thing that's really flourished are my mushrooms and RFA. though the growth has ebbed for them as well, which i'm glad for. maybe they can live longer then? mushrooms have grown, but other than my neon red/orange, have not spread. my tank is small, but i'm hoping for more established looking as we head into one year?? i forgot to mention i forced the same nem i had to before from the rock i got rid of. poor thing. i hope it's okay. i hung it upside down and popped it off with the base of a plastic knife. it's the flower nem second from your left on the rock. he likes to move around, but if he finds a good spot, he will stick there. i'm hoping he likes this spot and i didn't injure him coaxing him off the old sponge infested rock. NorthGaHillbilly
Everything looks great! I can feel your pain on the hydroids, I have found superglue to work the best, liquid superglue is great if you can remove the rock and let it run down there tubes. Link to comment

Nice colors. Coming along nicely. I've had hydroids in the past and was able to get them under control by decreasing my feeding back a bit. Good luck, hope the epoxy works. Link to comment
Sancho
Are you still nursing that creepy naked worm? I let my white sponge grow it seems to prefer the dark spots in my tank everything else i have tried to cover with shrooms. I like the sponge hopefully it does not become a problem. Link to comment

I've had hydroids in the past and was able to get them under control by decreasing my feeding back a bit. Good luck, hope the epoxy works. yeah. i'm nursing a naked duster so i am most likely overfeeding. though it's daily phyto. guess that would affect things. so all the growy things are growing and loving Are you still nursing that creepy naked worm? I let my white sponge grow it seems to prefer the dark spots in my tank everything else i have tried to cover with shrooms. I like the sponge hopefully it does not become a problem. haha! i am. there he is at the very front. he's still alive and kicking and taking up precious 8g real estate. i can't throw him away. i continue to dose the tank with phyto concentrate. for my non-naked worm too in the back left corner. the sponges really gross me out for some reason. but i was reading up on them and yeah, some people like sponges, depending. i just didn't like mine, it was taking over the entire rock and right below the rock with the RDEs and my feather duster. i didn't want it encroaching on that too! i also saw a big fat bristle worm just now. blech!
