Reefkid88
That sucks about the shrimp man. I'm really hoping you like that skimmer, and it works out pretty good. The prices on all those CoralBox's are pretty damn cheap. That one specifically would be awesome in a nano. Link to comment
Nanofreak79
Hopefully it'll be here this week. He said he was sending on Monday. Here's some quick pics I snapped today with the iPhone. Sexy shrimp are now taking pellets from tongs, minus one, which if you look on the maxi it is all broken apart...men doesn't want it either. 20150630-113000-6 by -Nanofreak79- 20150630-113017-7 by -Nanofreak79- 20150630-113110-8 by -Nanofreak79- Harlequin shrimp, tiny only about the size of a dime, slightly larger 20150630-113423-9 by -Nanofreak79- Inside the box is an armless CC star.....body is next full course for the shrimp. Nanofreak79
Anyone have an opinion on new lighting? Here's my ideas! - gut fixture and DIY - BML fixture - mini tide nanobox - AI prime -? Link to comment
Horerczy
Gut fixture, diy in two of Dave's V3 arrays. Slip in drivers and fan power in fixture to keep cords down. Link to comment
Reefkid88
DIY is always a good option !!! BML probably wouldn't be bad either though. Link to comment
Nanofreak79
Thanks guys! How much are those V3 arrays? Then what LDD drivers and a power supply and what board? Link to comment
Nanofreak79
Already have an order ready, but see a few new additions to LC's page. Don't want to buy all of them! What three would you choose? 20150701-183226-1 by -Nanofreak79- 20150701-183339-3 by -Nanofreak79- 20150619-182706-4 by -Nanofreak79- 20150619-183933-6 by -Nanofreak79- 20150317-153120-7 by -Nanofreak79- 20150629-170449-8 by -Nanofreak79- 20150629-170240-9 by -Nanofreak79- Link to comment

uwdanno
Erm I already have an invoice to pay for almost $400....all those are 6-700$ Dayum. Good call. I hate totaling up reef purchases. Link to comment
Reefkid88
$55 each I believe. Then if you want to run each channel separately,a 4up coralux board and 4 ldd's,a storm or typhon and probably any 100w or higher PSU SHOULD be suffice. Holy shit, that's crazy. Those Zoa's and Favoa are f*cking sick though !! Link to comment
Nanofreak79
So a diy is looking more expensive than any of the manufactured lights? Link to comment
FlowerMama
OH wow, that 3rd mushroom down!!! Link to comment
Nanofreak79
OH wow, that 3rd mushroom down!!! Yes! Gumdrop mushy....I just need to figure out the rest. I'm getting the shroom for sure. I need to save money for a light, salt, pump for bio and media reactor. Link to comment
FlowerMama
I know I saw one of those in the Shroom Room before. Craziness!! Link to comment
Horerczy
$54.95 for each array LDD drivers vary but online components tends to be cheapest. You'll need for 700H A 60 to 80 Watt power supply will suffice. 48 volts if you want four channel control 24 if you're just doing two channels like Dave did. Small heatsinks from heatsinkusa fit to the body size. 12v or 24v fans. Some form of controller. Coralux 4 up board. I can't nail any specifics down for parts because I'm not sure exactly what you want out of the light but it would have the output of a duo. Link to comment
Nanofreak79
Everything I want or need for the retro is expensive as buying a nanobox, or close. This is doing things the right way and not skimping on things. I have new lighting coming and also ordered some maxi and clean up crew finally. Pet solutions has some good stuff, cheap prices, and free shipping! Link to comment
Horerczy
Yeah diy isn't about saving money sometimes. It's just about because I could. What kind of light are you doing? Link to comment
Nanofreak79
Diy is fun, especially seeing your creation come to life! There's some pride in doing things like building a kick Ass led light from scratch. For now all my secrets can't be revealed, not even animals Link to comment
Nanofreak79
Can't wait to unveil.......got a CUC coming finally! Also bought another harlequin shrimp. Reefkid88
Par bulb ?!??? Can you find Aquavitro Salinity at any local store ? I LOVE IT,much happier than when I was using RSCP salt. Link to comment
Nanofreak79
I used aquavitrio for about two buckets. I guess I didn't have any issues with it. It is one of the more expensive salts. I'm doing 20 gallon WC's on the big tank and 3-5 gallons on the small tank twice per month or more sometimes. Thanks for your input, I'll check it out again. Lighting? Hmmmmm....... Link to comment
Horerczy
Keep using reef Crystal's if they're working for you. Good salt. Not quite as consistent as regular io but still good stuff. I get big boxes on amazon for cheap. Link to comment

I heard more natural sea levels was better for bio pellets. How is your tank doing? Still living with your soon to be old lady? Link to comment
