You might want to increase the phosphate level in the tank. The coral is not getting what it needs to branch outwards.

LOL, well its not as if thats easy enough to do, i already have issues with algaes sucking down nutrients, even though i run chaeto and a skimmer....

Mine does not have any bubbles... extremely slight if any. I put a small piece of the sponge before that final baffle, to prevent loose chaeto from getting into the return chamber... obviously an older photo with the regular skimmer. not the elite... https://flic.kr/p/koifBc%5D'>https://flic.kr/p/koifBc]12723107545_b29b36e3a4_c.jpghttps://flic.kr/p/koifBc%5DSump'>https://flic.kr/p/koifBc]Sump AIO by https://www.flickr.com/people/66620096@N02/%5DJ.L'>https://www.flickr.com/people/66620096@N02/]J.L Photography, on Flickr

It was actually designed by chris... it came with the Pico... its 3 walls and bottom egg crate, and one wall is acrylic. thats the side that faces the light.

You should snap the stalk off of the red planet acro from the back wall and then stick it in a different spot on the wall so it can encrust there, too, to fill in faster :)

Guys, at this point, after more than a year with this frag not doing anything other than the obvious, if it does provide the awesome backdrop of texture and color that would be a win....

#StillPatient !!!!

Patience, yes... I've been working with mine for a couple years now. Managed to get a 1/4" nubbin to the size of a tennis ball betore it discovered the concept of 'branching'. Now it's spiking like a punk rocker's hair :)

Always better!

Thanks

That frogspawn is a beast.. Any frogspawn tip/tricks?

Uh, no clue, it just really likes my tank!

Now that I think about it, i used to have it cramped with rocks nearby, or a rock and then an anemone on the other side, really competed for space... Since allowing it to have its own corner, its flourished...

Here's april last year in the older tank

Hey Tron, quick question man. I love how you used to have your cap coming off the wall and growing like that. Are their specific species that grow in that way instead of just encrusting? Also, how did you mount it? Flat, or on the side? I'm considering doing this in the new tank, I love the looks of Rainbow Monti's and such, but I don't think I've ever seen one growing out, always encrusting.

Thanks man!

Hey Tron, how are you mounting your screen top to the tank? the clips that came with my cad will not work with the DIY screen top.

Well, I measured the screen frame to fit within the clips, so it rests on the the clips. I cleverly glued black tubing to the top of the acrylic back wall, and use 2 clips, one on each side, and the screen sits perfectly...

Well, the one on the right just encrusted on its own via growth, then did its thing from there, it didn't start on the wall... the one on the left, i had a small piece i simply glued on there, I was also breaking end pieces and gluing them ontop of the main disc randomly... its a random grower, doesn't always do what you want, good luck!

Gotta love that TDI

Oh yes! and the inside is like riding in a BMW for me, compared to my old car hahaha
