I used to have a fair few on the glass at the back, and most of them are gone. His belly isn't pinched either. But I don't have enough live pods to sustain him fully in such a small tank. I tried acquiring pods from the LFS, but they were out of stock. I'll see if I can hatch some BBS and if he goes for it. Need to find the BS eggs first though - I think I have a vague idea on where I stored them. 🤔 1 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
I have a slice of good news: I spotted *both of my GCGs after lights out and they seem fine so far. Both of the fish seem to be content perching on either my forest fire digi garden, pavona or lepto pieces. I'm glad they're okay for now. I truly hope they start eating soon. I have garlic oil which I can add to the pellets and wet food (tried it yesterday with the liquid BBS), but it can be difficult to target-feed them because they stay very well-hidden during the day. Their small size also makes it near impossible for me to locate them in the tank. That, and the fact that they seem to pop up just about anywhere. The 10G might be small in its capacity, but my scape is designed in such a way that there are two main arches and many hidden mini caves throughout the tank. A fish the size of GCG can literally hide away for weeks without detection if they choose to do so. I think once they're fully acclimated to their new home, they should become more bold and I'll see them more often. As of now, I'm just letting them be and not moving any rocks around to scare them. 3 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
I did an 8G WC this afternoon. Took a while to get everything sorted out because I moved a few zoa frags around again. All the polyps on nearly every coral is slightly retracted post-WC, but at least I spotted Houdini: Everything should perk up by tomorrow, I think. 🤔 I also trimmed off some GSP strands which were too close to the new pink yuma. I'm thinking of fragging more Firestorms and some Fire & Ice zoas the next time to trade in at the LFS. Might throw in some Purple Monsters and Metallic Green palys as well. I do have excessive superman shrooms, so that can join the mix. 🤔 Not sure how much all of it will be worth, but hoping to pick up more zoas and shrooms with different colors in the future. 👍 I'll take better pics once everything has settled down. Will try to take a FTS too. 2 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
I also took a few pics through a pair of orange filter lens glasses under heavy (not full) actinics, just to capture the fluorescence of various corals under blue lights. Here are some topview shots: 3 Quote Link to comment

Snow_Phoenix
I'll try to take some better pics under *full actinics tomorrow. Under true blues, everything glows without the cartoonish, overly-lurid colors to it. 👍 In the meantime, here are some regular FTS shots taken today on 18/2/23: And here are FTSes taken with the orange filter glasses + heavy actinics: Fish and other inverts are doing okay. 👍 1 1 Quote Link to comment

ml86743
This tank is so DIALED in...I know I same the same s**t every time but I'm over here droolin! I LOVE IT! I know we briefly discussed your leptastrea the other day. Mine came in and it really is an awesome coral. Hoping mine does half as well as yours:) I can't remember if I asked, but do you feed yours often? 1 Quote Link to comment

Stray pellets occassionally drop on one or two individual polyps, and they slowly ingest it over time. 👍 1 1 Quote Link to comment

I broadcast feed a “gumbo”(slurry) of phyto/coral sprint/LRS daily. On top of 2 drops min s and 11 of BW coral amino (prefer acropower). it grows/feeds everything, growth is on fire now my leather and gorgs and 1 gsp are out. Alkconsumption is still up 1.2 dkh. Ca and Mg are similarly zapped. I’m still catching up dosing. Consumption is around 2 dkh/day, after losing 5-6 pieces. Hard way to learn, but huge growth gains 👍🏻 Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
Houdini's belly is looking a bit pinched. 😞 I'm nursing a severe migraine today, so I didn't get to do much. I hope he starts eating soon though. 2 Quote Link to comment
