Got an anemome yesterday excited for when my clowns find it and start hosting it!

Its a beautiful watermelon looking bubble tip I got for 40$ at the LFS.

Also my mag seems to fluctuate a lot.

Today was at 1250.

And my gsp is super temperamental they will stay open about a week then close for a few days then open for about a week.

Contest tank is still holding strong.

But Had to say goodbye to my royal gramma in my biocube this morning.

He had ich that I didn't catch in time and has passed on to the ocean in the sky. Sad day.

I feel horrible for killing him.

You didn't kill him.  If it was ich it might have been treatable, but it might not have been, either.  If it wasn't ich, well...most not-ich things that look ich-y are fast killers from what I understand.  Sorry you lost your fishie, it stinks! :(

even if i dont win the contest learned alot.

this was my first tank, so it was fun to learn about the constant changing chemistry inside a reef tank. how things like water changes and light cycles affect the tank.

was very sad when we lost both our clowns but have hopfully learned how to help prevent that in the future.

we will keep the tank running until we have a solid reason not to.

its also been so cool to see the corals grow mainly my zoas.

and watching the rocks and tank grow new coraline algae.

It'll be neat to see where you go with this tank, moving forward.

Those Zoas look good!!

Hi there

Almost time for the contest end in FOUR DAYS!!

Please post some pictures and a final FTS whenever you get a chance along with your challenges and observations.

Any equipment feedback would be great too.

Thanks

And a summary of livestock, with prices.

This contest was fun to get involved with, it pushed us to finally start a reef tank.

we did lose our clowns along the way not sure why still but in 6 more weeks we shall add more fish.

all the Innovative marine equipment has worked great for me, the pump went silent about 2 weeks in.

only issue ive had is with my ATO it doesnt always work which is kinda annoying.

our plan is to keep this tank up and running atleast till we move in 9 months. we will see after that what we do then.

we are also debating adding sand now that the contest is over. i like the bare look for the tank but my gf wants sand.

So we had a tank "crash" yesterday.

I had some hair algae I was pulling off then down came the entire rock structure came crashing down. So I reaquascapped. Not quite as happy with it but it will be nice when it starts to grow. IMG_0277.thumb.JPG.67ad6b2d4769ac5b596186d85e3762d3.JPG
