Mine get pissy when alk gets below 9.5. Maybe the frog is just used to higher alkalinity. Might also want to try a different spot in the tank - less flow/more flow, less light/more light 4 minutes ago, Coral_chef said: So I'm slow at updating this week, I recently added a frogspawn to the tank on Friday it still hasn't opened. I would just do a large water change rather than dosing to bring the numbers up. What are your nitrates at? I don't know how I posted the first part twice. Oops 1 Quote Link to comment
coralcousins
Having some algae issues ? What's your clean up crew like ? Maybe put the hydor koralia in a different spot to hit some of those areas. Quote Link to comment
Coral_chef
I have 5 snails and a blue leg hermit @coralcousins @stellablue just went to a different fish store after two days of doesing my Parms today are: ph 8.3 alk 12 cal 470 mag 1300 i didn't even does alk??? Might try moving the pump only worry is it will change flow pattern on corals Quote Link to comment
Pjanssen
I would say a little less flow for the frogspawn. As long as alk doesn't swing rapidly, you should be ok. I would get your own test kits so that you know everything is consistent. Quote Link to comment
ReefWeeds
Agree with @Pjanssen - getting your own text kits is important. Did you get your nitrates tested? Quote Link to comment

fishfreak0114
It shouldn't. The bio filter will adjust so you won't get ammonia, but hopefully the nitrates will rise. Obviously, if you dumped in excessive amounts of food, that could cause problems though. 2 Quote Link to comment
Pjanssen
Are you running carbon of any kind? Pull it out for a little while if you are Quote Link to comment

Don't dump like a whole cube of mysis or 40 pellets or anything. Just put in a little more than your fish eat. Just a little extra 1 Quote Link to comment

Coral_chef
Feeling relieved. removed the chemipure blue. been doseing 50 ml mag a day. Green star polyps are all open and happy octospawn still isn't all the way out but definitely doing much better. Hammer finally came in and is doing good as well. One of my zoas gained 3 new heads this week. None of the 5 heads are open though? Not sure why. And my captain America zoa gained one head. Hair alage is still going strong though. Will get my new FTS either tonight or tomorrow. 3 Quote Link to comment
