I also have carbon since the leather corals. No GFO. Testing is very infrequent; I try to test alk every week or two to see if I need to adjust dosing. Im a firm believer in water changes- 25% every week or two. 2 Quote Link to comment

HarryPotter
Drill it and use acrylic rods. Might be the thing to do. Or just go crazy with epoxy? Quote Link to comment
Sancho
Might be the thing to do. Or just go crazy with epoxy? i have used 1/2 inch rods in conjunction with epoxy works well for stacking. Quote Link to comment
ninjamyst
I tried to drill my rocks. Gave up quickly. Probably need better drill bits. I ended up using just super glue, but then my rocks fitted nicely together and the glue was mostly just for reinforcement. Quote Link to comment
HarryPotter
For the record: Phosphate 0.00 TOO LOW Alkalinity 8.5 Good, slowly lowering it to where I like. i have used 1/2 inch rods in conjunction with epoxy works well for stacking. I tried to drill my rocks. Gave up quickly. Probably need better drill bits. I ended up using just super glue, but then my rocks fitted nicely together and the glue was mostly just for reinforcement. My rocks are kind of small, maybe too small for drilling. I will try to figure out something later. Bummer though! i haven't tested any parameters in almost 3 months...lol Well my phosphate is that cursed 0.00 again! Stupid tank. Algae growing but 0.00 phosphates. Quote Link to comment
