300g brackish cichlid? Be a man, 300g REEF. :)

Just teasing, your tank looks fantastic. Thread search isn't working ... do you use GFO or measure PO4? Scrolling back to make sure you didn't just answer this question. :)

I don't use any chemicals in my tank; just socks and skimming. I also have carbon since the leather corals. No GFO.

Testing is very infrequent; I try to test alk every week or two to see if I need to adjust dosing.

Im a firm believer in water changes- 25% every week or two.

  • Replaced both mesh socks and rinsed dirty ones
  • Emptied skimmer and cleaned body
  • Replaced carbon (SeaChem pellets per Stella)
  • Razored glass/coralline
  • Razored Sump
  • #%^* made 2 SE teal stag frags
  • Mixed up Refugium
  • Velcro Wire Ties
  • Moved red Palm macro to sump (snails eating)
  • Refilled both Alk and Ca containers (B-ionic)
  • Calibrated Doser for no reason but to check
  • Refilled 10g ATO RODI
  • Trashed some dead snails
  • Made 20g RODI for weekend water change
  • Used Velcro to mount power supplies

Next up for this weekend:

  • Lower grafted montipora to enhance color.
  • Replace 1 canister from RODI system- leaking.
  • Full test: Ca Mg No3 PO4 Alk Salinity
  • 20g water change (after test!) w full sand mixing

You must be feeling very virtuous!

I felt like I was being lazy for the tank not testing and all, was about time!

Boom.

4:00pm

Vortech turned back on after feeding

Rock collapse (left side), skimmer overflowed, bubble tip anemone pissed the F*** off, and a few broken corals.

#### I hate aquascaping.

Well crap :(

At least you were there when it happened so you didn't have to explain the flood to your parents

I freaking hate scaping Teeny. I never had trouble before. I epoxy and glue and make sure its all stable.

I hope my BTA isn't "Hurt-Hurt". A few tentacles came off... All withered now but I think will inflate tomorrow.

GAH. I hate rocks. Can someone in Miami do this for me? lol

Might be the thing to do. Or just go crazy with epoxy?

i have used 1/2 inch rods in conjunction with epoxy works well for stacking.

I tried to drill my rocks. Gave up quickly. Probably need better drill bits. I ended up using just super glue, but then my rocks fitted nicely together and the glue was mostly just for reinforcement.

For the record:

Phosphate 0.00 TOO LOW

Alkalinity 8.5 Good, slowly lowering it to where I like.

My rocks are kind of small, maybe too small for drilling. I will try to figure out something later. Bummer though!

Well my phosphate is that cursed 0.00 again! Stupid tank. Algae growing but 0.00 phosphates.

how much algae? if u have algae, ur phosphate is not really 0.00.

Refugium growing great. Hair algae behind rocks where low flow.

Emarco 400. Holds rocks together through a hurricane. I can't actually prove this but it's my non scientific observation

Can I use it in the tank or do the rocks need to come out?
