ReefWeeds
Good stuff . Which fish is your favorite? The Midas (Bert?) is looking really healthy!!! I think they are a more difficult fish to get to thrive in aquariums so that's great to see him looking so good . Gosh, that's a hard choice to make! Bert is a little fatty! He's still my favorite I think. He's so social and is friends with everyone. But I love Magellan the fox face too! He's just as social. He and Bert pal around all day which is fun to watch. Both of them are the outgoing fish for sure. My clowns barely come out of their back corner! I love watching the redspot glass cardinals school together and the chromis just bop all around the tank. But yeah, Bert and Magellan are my favorites for sure! Link to comment

Polarcollision
That I'm not sure about. They do eat the food I put in for the fish as well. If needed, i may end up turning them in at my LFS. But I'm thinking the bubble algae is going to be a constant fight - it will regrow since the spores are being released into the tank. Hopefully there will be enough to keep them fed. Four of the mithrax are very small. Two are massive. So I might end up just getting rid of the massive ones or putting them in the sump to chomp away at the macros I have in there. If they can make 2-day, I might take the 2 big ones off your hands. Especially since they eat bubble for sure Link to comment

When I run out of bubbles, I'll let you know for sure and send them along. I would think they're ok with two-day as long as I put enough water in the bag for them and have it heated appropriately! He hasn't picked on anything other than algae though! https://instagram.com/p/BLMO7eADt05/ Link to comment

ReefWeeds
thats fancy....I just toss the frozen cubes in the tank really? How does it not just sit right on the overflow? I don't turn the pumps off. I let the food get blow around everywhere. Link to comment

I dont turn the pumps off either, i use a bit of tank water to defrost the food and then use a food dropper, spot feed etc. Link to comment

If the fish are being lazy I might have to pull it from the overflow Link to comment
StinkyBunny
Glad you got the video of him - needed the smile. We lost our heart dog last week after a sudden loss of appetite leading to 5 days ICU at the specialty clinic, every test in the world, only to find out finally from endoscopy biopsies that it was a rare, aggressive cancer of the small intestine. He went from healthy and hearty to gone in 29 days. We are just crushed - he went literally everywhere, everyday with us. Spent past 2 days working on cleaning my tanks, doing 30% water changes, etc. They were ignored other than feeding and ATO topoffs while we were caring for Elvis. Its been good therapy. We lost Benny about a month ago, I'm tearing up typing this. Never a down day in the little guy's life, then he was gone. I always said that it was a good day to be The Booman. Link to comment

I always said that it was a good day to be The Booman. Aww it's so so hard! Our little Stella is getting up there in age - she's 12 and is starting to lose her eyesight and hearing. It's so hard to watch them get old because you know they aren't going to live forever. Luckily she is still feisty and gives the standards. Run for their money daily. And to make all you dog lovers smile, here's Franklin rolling his eyes at me. 75 lbs of goofball. Link to comment
Astinus
So sorry Stinky I am with ya stella...It really is hard to accept the inevitable. Link to comment
Newstead
Franklin is hysterical. Stinky, so sorry about Benny. What a doll he was. Stella, do you know if the red mithrax are ok with pustol shrimp? I love crabs, but don't want to put our little Randalki in jeopardy - he's been with us 14 months now. And just to pick your brain even more, where is the best place to get photosynthetic gorgonians? Link to comment

They don't seem to bother any other inverts, even my porcelain crabs which are very passive. Check out the gorgs Russ has at live-plants.com! I've gotten quite a few from him. KP Aquatics is also a great place for gorgonians as well! I have a bunch from them too! Link to comment
