Maniu
Sightless ......... yes. Senseless........ no. How they do it I do not know. But I assume they are SUPER sensitive to even the most micro - tinny water movement. It is possible they could posses other sixth sense of detection. As many ocean creature do. Best wishes Link to comment

Best wishes it is amazing. when i put the shorter tube in, it immediately began wiggling toward it. he is still tucked in the longer tube. i'm not sure if it means he can't make another one for himself, as he's separated from the sand. but as long as he's feeling safer, and less stressed, i hope. Maniu
It is said that they should or might (under right conditions) generate new, translucent tube between 1st and 2nd week. However, I don't recall which subspecies, author was referring to in his study. Tube materials and construction is rather complex. And I can not imagine how it could be cloned by worm in time of few to several weeks. Food that is too large or simply rejected, is used as primer/mortar for new or existing tube. IMHO, reducing stress & nutrition boost is priority. Once she regenerates her strength. Self healing might begin. But for now, her ER drama isn't over yet. It's critical but there is hope. I am rooting for her. M thank you, maniu! it has been making a lot of black stuff. i assume poo or discarded food? not sure? some of it is swept away but much of it remains in the white sand in his tub. i'm not sure if it's well enough to make another of its own tube. it has crawled out again from the plastic one i provided overnight, so i'm just going to leave it be. it means it can crawl back in when it wants to. Maniu
They love flow Cindy. Lots of it. Also when you spot feed her. Don't squirt food directly into the center of the crown but more to the side and under her feathers. Link to comment

cindyp
OT! here is my latest chinese brush painting, based on a bluebird my friend posted on her fb page that visits her garden. i first tried rendering the bird on white rice paper, but because its breast is white, its fluffy effect waslost. so i bought pale green paper and tried again. thetexture of the paper was challenging (controlling my ink)so you see a halo around the bird. but i was able to getthe fluffy white look of its breast, and i’m very happy with it. i put him on a rock and had the idea of adding some colorfulflowers around him, but my teacher refused! she said nothingshould take away from the quiet grace of this bird. the calligraphy (by my teacher) says: Peaceful Heart. TGIF, friends! Link to comment
gena
He's beautiful! I love painting birds too. My favorite is the black-capped chickadee. I did this one about 3 or 4 years ago. It's small, about 3x5 . Did I show you this already? I can't remember lol. If you click on the photo it's bigger. Link to comment

Thanks . I've been painting off and on (mostly off) since college (art history minor). This one is a mix of pencil and watercolors. I like to mix it up LOL. I don't have any real training...took one art class in college. Link to comment

TigerLily
Lovely birds ladies! I love the different styles and they are both beautiful. And Cindy - I agree that bird stands alone. Beautiful. Wanna see mine…? (that sounds wrong somehow…) Hummingbirds in acrylic on cotton - mixed media. Designing a tank can be a very creative endeavor. I'm not surprised at all to find so many artists! Did 2 abstract portraits and peacock feather inspiration piece for a friend that was getting it transfer to skin. Link to comment
