i just threw out the tail segement of

the naked duster worm. it was definitely

dead and decaying. very stinky!

not sure how long the naked duster worm

will last--but he is still wiggling.

Sorry to hear that. At least the other half is alive and kicking.

And it is absolutely true about compulsive, random purchases.

But there are far worst addictions then hobby such as this.

Cute goby ;)

Sure makes me miss mine, but it's awesome you got one! They're pretty hard to find locally, at least it was for me haha.

Tank's looking good too! Gotta love them dusters

thank you!

the duster, as far as i can tell, is flourishing!

i dose with phyto daily (probably too much, but eh)

and also feed oyster feast 2x a week.

the gbg, alas, has been MIA for two days now.

i haven't seen it since the first day it went into the tank.

there's nothing in my tank that could kill it, so i'm just

hoping it's shy and hiding.

i guess we'll see, huh?

That is one beautiful feather duster. I've been looking for a red/yellow or a pure yellow feather duster but to no avail.

ASD had two on sale. same kind of duster. i saw them

with my own eyes and they are beautiful. but with shipping,

i think it'll cost you $80. :(

i see you are in southern cali. i'm in san diego.

maybe there can be some sort of cheaper shipping rate?

#129 on this page is one of them. :)

they might have sold though. there were two on sale

this past weekend. i bought the best one on

saturday before the sale started.

Did you check your back compartments??

i have not! i'm not sure how it's possible he could

get back there? but i suppose it is. the slits in this

cadlights are so slim!

Oh no :(

If it makes you feel better, when I had mine, I'd sometimes notice he was nowhere to be found. I only have two rocks so there weren't many places to hide. I lifted rocks, checked the floor, the HOB, nothing. Then a couple hours later, he'd be scooting around in plain view! I realized that he was actually hiding inside the rock and since mine aren't very porous, the possibility had never occurred to me. But anyways, give it time to come out of hiding as that would be my first guess as to his whereabouts :) These animals can really squeeze into tight spots.

#129 is pretty nice. My gf says if it's from AquaSD, then we have to go on a road trip so she can see it in person

i am actually not too worried. i feel like Fish Karma.

if it's not meant to survive in my tank, it won't. but i think

he's just hiding. i hope!!! (there aren't any predators. just

likely dirty algae water and alk swings, ha!)

yes! it is ASD! they are close to me and i'm out of loads of money

because they are so close to me. ha! i'd call first before the road trip--

but i think you'll be impressed by the two dusters. :)

I hope he's just hiding fingerscrossed. ASD doesn't discount shipping for instate . Probably better that way LOL.

alas, still no gbg. ASD has another shipment arrived this

week so i'm going to go "window shop" today when i pick

up my salt water. ha!

SO COOL! i just saw my really big black stomatella snail pump

out a bunch of eggs or sperm, dunno which. and then a little

pink one do the same! hope that population thrives. this black

snail is BIG, i mean, at least the size of my ring finger fingernail.

off to revise before i head over to ASD. :)

happy weekend, friends!

Hey do you happen to know what brand salt asd uses. I'm just curious since you always get water there. Also have you ever tested the parameters of 5 here water?

Drama they use Red Sea pro I used to get my water there all the time it's mixed good as far as salinity but I never checked the other parameters

i buy their more expensive coral water. that is NOT the red

sea pro. it's something else. a coral salt--the poster is right

above where you buy the water. it includes all the parameters.

if you called, they could tell you brand and the params. i was

just looking at it today, but have the memory of a pregnant hippo.

this is labeled their regular "fish water" now. i get

the slightly more expensive coral water. it's a coral salt

brand. some such. ha!

seriously. i saw a small beautiful master

scoly, it's maybe 2.5 inches. on sale for $350.

*weeps* haha

Thanks cindy, I think I'm going to cruise down there tomorrow and check it out. Most of my corals are from asd and I'm curious how close my tanks parameters are to theirs. I notice some of the pieces I have, not from asd have taken longer to flurish/ thrive in my systems.

I've been reading up on a aclimation techniques and was curious of the lfs in the areas parameters and differences form each other. Just curious really.

Did you get to see any of Wills new pieces that he will be putting up tomorrow night?

yes, i did. he got some sick lobos and welsos (?)

in and also that scoly that i loved. ah well. i really have

no room, but i'm always window shopping. ha! they have

only afternoon hours on sunday, i think? but he DID say they

use the more expensive coral water for their entire system in

the store.

i know one is red sea and the more expensive is the red sea pro

that might be it!

and hey, is that a scoly in your avatar?

love it! beautiful colors.

I switched to red sea pro and keep my salinity at 1.026. That's what my favorite coral shop is using and salinity of their water. (since most of my corals come from them,it makes acclimation super easy)

Keeping temperature between 79 and 81. Higher temperature promotes more rapid metabolic rate. Equals, faster growth.

Stopped by for 2 part calcium/alkalinity buffer and walked out with wellso and rasta acan lol

72........ lol

Yeah, let's not get into that.

78 is what most (I assume) reefers set their temperature at as well.

I am so ignorant when it comes to "my build" thread or posting update pictures.

But I will make an exception just for you.

It's early morning (4:30 am) but I'll definitely take some pictures later today before water change.

Both were kinda pissed. I am guessing driving for hours in freezing temperature didn't help.

But BJ's and Trader Joe's were priority on the to do list. Lol

By the way..... did you find your goby?

I think I missed that post/update.
