cindyp
that lobo is a show piece! coming from you, ninja? i'm chuffed! i do love her a lot. she's been eating. i hope she does okay in my dirty little tank being dosed on phyto. ha! How frequently are you doing WCs? And how much chemical media? I setup the 8g too and I feel that I may be using too much phosphate remover for it's size. hello! i do weekly water changes. sometimes i let it go for 10 days, but never usually longer than that. i use half the sponge size that was provided by cadlights in the first chamber, but with a small chemipure elite at the bottom of the chamber. my changing of the chemipure has been erratic due to various disasters. ha! i think it's been a good two months since i last changed my bag. Thanks it's not bad. getting some algae due to the phyto dosing. you're welcome and good luck! pink corals and yellow corals are hard to find and my fav. your lobo has both! very nice pickup =). that's funny because that's exactly what will from ASD says: it's pink and more rare. Cameron6796
Whoa haha so I may have been overdoing it because yours looks healthy. Thanks You can actually cause some harm in using too much phosphate remover so I'd cut it back and see if it does anything, if algae gets out of control then up how much you are using again. cindyp
listening to new Taylor Swift CD for latest subject line. ha! the new lobo seems to be doing very well. it goes from spikey to full throughout the day, though mostly full at night. i caught it at dusk today. i'm thisclose to finishing my sequel. maybe 2-3k more? it's a moving target but i'm writing the denouement now (falling action, resolution, ending). so yippee! Nano sapiens
Nice Lobo. They'll go through phases of 'puffy' to 'spikey' depending on the time of day/night and whether they detect food, Typically, they'll have their spikey feeding tentacles out at night to capture prey and it's quite impressive. cindyp
Yay! Finish that sequel so you can post more my editor just extended my deadline to March 1. uhoh! i need the extra time to revise!! my beautiful lobo is doing very well! she is eating great! naked worm is still wiggling, and so is the tail end of naked worm, wiggling inside the tube. i have no idea what's going on. ha! i'm still hoping maybe the naked worm will make another tube for itself? another foto of pink lobo with photobombing yellow clown goby. if you go back to the previous page, you can really see how it shrinks and expands! i think it is fullest often at night time. cindyp
I'm so glad to hear the good news on your worm(s)! It's always a mixed blessing when writing deadlines gets extended. You get more time to make it better, but you have to live through the process that much longer And that lobo... right on the nose regarding extended deadlines, john! inspired by you, i did a major tank cleaning today. though i didn't get to cleaning the pump--which i do need to do. next time. i bought a great pair of nose pliers from the home depot for $8 and they snapped those vermetid worms or snails or whatever right off! the naked duster is still doing the same. but i noticed its tail end isn't very active. i picked it out with tweezers and was going to throw it away, but it seemed to still retract a little? so i didn't have heart to throw out, but almost two weeks later--i'm pretty sure it's on its last legs. we'll see, i guess! cindyp
after my cleaning, i looked at the calendar and realized that the tank is just past 24 weeks old. six months! i took a picture after my big cleaning so everything is looking a little pissy. since the 18 week update, i think i've seen a real moritorium on growth. i haven't been feeding as much, other than phyto feast daily for my naked worm. and i think due to this, there has been more algae on the glass. the flower nems are doing great. my bam bam zoas aren't, for some reason. the frag i bought has a red hair algae issue--and i try to keep on top of it, but the zoas aren't happy. most mushrooms are happy, but not super flourishing. the dendro and the balano are doing great--they are especially huge and tentacles out at night. moving forward, i'm thinking of getting rid of some corals that i got at the very beginning that i simply don't love anymore. biggest lesson with an 8g is that REAL ESTATE IS PRECOUS. so, every piece i get i must *love*. of course, as an eager noob, i didn't know any better. the yellow clown goby is eating like a champ. the sexy shrimps seem to be doing well. and the naked duster is still kicking, though its tail end might be shuffling off its mortal coil soon. thanks for following along on my journey, friends! i've finished my 5th novel (clocking in at 308 pages and just under 83k words) and now need to revise! cindyp
the tail end is starting to look a bit pallid and moving less 2 weeks after being broken off. i think it's dying. bigger worm seems to be doing okay, though. Link to comment

cindyp
It looks so colorful . So what will you remove? i'm in love with a scoly i see at ASD. but the worm is taking up prime real estate. haha! i don't particularly like the bam bams (i'm not into zoas or palys much, it seems? maybe haven't bought the right one?) and also i have some green mushrooms that are plain too. but as of now, not doing anything major due to revisions. ha! teenyreef
Good luck on the revisions! I just turned in the very last revisions on the proposal I was working on today. Whew! I think a scoly would be very very nice in your tank. Once the worm decides one way or the other what he's going to do, he won't take up nearly as much space, too I really know what you mean about only getting corals you absolutely love in such a small tank. The only ones I've gotten rid of (on purpose) so far are ones that got invasive. But I have a few other ones that wouldn't be there if only I could come up with a good excuse Link to comment

(they are usually in sciences or academia.) i wonder if my naked worm will be a linger on-er. ha! it's okay. he's my weird little buddy. poor thing. Link to comment
