Sorry about your tank troubles! You'll live the 40B though. I'm really loving mine and I've never had issues with cracks or seam failures on the tanks from Petco. Can't wait to see the restart!

Well, I was told by another LFS I know well that it's a 5 yr warranty on seams so I should be able to get another tank sent to me. BUT....at this point, you know how you're so done? And feel it would be better to go more simple? That's where I am mentally

Additionally, with my current work situation realizing, as much as I hate the thought, I could live w/ my parents (believe me they already offered) and pay off my credit cards in 8 mos, then take my stuff out of storage and move again, maybe even do a land/home option and build a modular Rent is insane here and so EVEN if I could get a replacement tank, it'd have to sit in storage. Don't feel I want to go through all of that. I'm done with Deep Blue in my mind.

And damn Felicia, you put together a wicked 40. I have it in my bedroom on the floor.

Have to be thinking right now what to do if I have to move in 4-6 mos. And of course I just started that 10g cycling to replace the Evolve. Well, Gert would have to go into it and then into Gertie's 20g tank would have to go all the nems and corals in my 34 and the fish. Came home and the pump to the Jebao pump is kaput. So I have 2 from the 60 I can use.

any possible way to get a store credit / vendor credit instead of a replacement? i guess if they do offer you a replacement, may as well take it and resell it if this is not the best time to restart the tank.

Might need to move somewhere less touristy.

What did you do as a job if you don't mind me asking?

My job was 2nd level support, research specialist. Pharmacy medical claims for Medicare/caid, commercial ins, and Part D insurance are run through our system, where we have edits in place catching things that are wrong. We flag the claim which lets the tech or pharmacist fix the claim. Once corrected and passes we upload it to the plan. If they don't understand the rejection we're sending they call our customer support, both indy pharmacies, chain stores and pharmacy chains.

I was the level after that so if there's a problem and level 1 can't figure it out I get a case escalated to me and I work and do research with 3 other depts. I also directly take phone calls from HQ accts and work cases sent by HQ accounts.

Deep blue wouldn't give a credit, they do replacement but by their answers to me I can't even see them doing anything. I have a friend that I believe I'll sell my current tank to.

Simple is always best. I can't imagine the work that goes into more than one system. Technically I do have a pico but it's on auto pilot, I don't do much to it at all.

What corals do rock flowers do well with? I have all mine on one island in my tank and they seem to burn anything they come into contact with by accident. I dont really want just one bare island with a few RFA in it.

Well, mine get burned by corals like my bowerbanki acan so they move away from it. Mine are also sitting next to Grandis Paly and are getting bothered.

So I could put an acan on that island and they will just stay away from it? I had a candy cane coral on that island and it is about dead from being burned by them. Also a ricordia is looking burned a bit.

My RFAs would irritate zoas so that they wouldn't open and burned my photosynthetic gorgonians. I do admit I have most of my RFAs sequestered on their own little island now.

I have mine all on one island as well but want a little something on that island with them if I can. They move around a little bit on that island so need something that isnt going to get burned up by them.

+1

My RFA moved over to my Zoa rock and totally took over- stinging everything, etc.

Now all my nice Zoas are on a frag rack while I figure out what the heck to do lol

I really love my RFA's alot. As much as any coral I have in my tank. I just have to figure out how to keep them kind of settled in one area.

You could put some macroalgae there. Codium, blue scroll, Octodes, Galaxaura, Bryothamnion all have unique colors or growth patterns. Check out live-plants.com for pictures of most of those.

I love my rock flowers more than anything and some mushrooms more than acans so I've had some acans get stung by some mushrooms and give my acans away to a local friend to try bring back.

Mushrooms win over acans? Wow. I love mushrooms but had them almost take over my last tank. I have been afraid to put any in this tank. The closest I have right now is ricordia as they grow so slow. Yes, You got me hooked on RFA's now. They are one of my favorite things in my tank.

Sometimes you gotta pick favorites when they start to battle it out!

I found 2 babies in my 34g a couple wks back but they're tiny. And one in Gertie's tank. Also tiny. I'm going to have to up the feeding on my flowers to make stronger bigger babies. And in 4 mos I move hopefully so then I can set the 40g up and get it cycling.

Link to comment

How often do you feed to get bigger babies? Cant wait to see what property and home you choose and then your tanks set up!

Link to comment

I only feed my flowers once a week but seems like everyone has bigger babies. Guess I'm erring on the side of less because the tank they are in is supposed to be coral only and not loaded up w/ flowers so I have to be careful about overfeeding the tank.

I feed my tank a ton. Out of my 30 or so babies I have mix of super tiny to bigger. Ones that get out in good light seem to grow fast
