I'd really like to know what the secret is. They die off in my 46 as well, but take over in my 40 and 20. Why!?! I wonder if one of your fish eats them?

I dunno man, its possible!

So, this tank is 2 months old! Finally got around to placing the red monti cap on the back wall and it really looks different. Now I've got a shelf to work with, and thats good, because I got a couple new sps frags yesterday. Need to figure out the easiest way to snip off the bases of the frag plugs they're on. Took a variety of full tank shots today and a couple of close-ups.

love your build, just started my 20long last month and hope I can get it to look as good as yours, following

20 long tanks are fun! I'm sure your's will look amazing!

Looks fantastic. Somehow you have twice as much space as I do in my 20. :)

Haha, impossible! What makes you say that?

Yesterday I did get around to snipping frags off of plugs and gluing them to the rock. Here's what Redemption Island is looking like now:

Tank is looking awesome !!! I'm using it as inspiration

Weee, thank you! :flower:

Is the monti on a glass cleaner.

Yep! I glued a piece of eggcrate (1x3 squares) to the magfloat, then glued the monti to the eggcrate. After the fact, I thought about spray painting the whole getup black, but it was too late.. and the toadstool does a pretty good job of blocking it from sight. If it bothers me, I can pop the eggcrate off and paint the magfloat at least.

Cool think im going to pick up a large glas cleaner and put my monti on it that will free up alot of space on my rocks.

Nice, its a quick and easy solution, especially if you have a bunch of spare magfloats lying around like I do. I was going to make a magnet rock out of epoxy and rubble, but haven't been able to find the right magnets for cheap yet.

I just epoxy-glued a monti frag directly to my glass in the corner of my Fluval Spec. It is growing rapidly, including over the glass itself! Might not be an option for larger tanks, but it is kind of an interesting look.

Took some pics yesterday and today using the 430EX, a diffuser, and the old DIY ringflash to see what kind of macros I could get. The in-camera colors were more yellow from the flash, so I pulled them more towards blue in RAW processing to look normal.
And I see Flickr has gone and updated their look again.... ah, found the IMG code.
