My Skimmer seems to breaking in. Was a little worried since it was used and $20 for the housing and I put a random pump on it.

I pick him up with my bare hands to move him between tanks so he isn't too sharp if you don't use force. Guessing he is gentle with his hats

I believe the rock has finished its cycle. Not sure how long it took because I didn't start testing till I tossed in an ammonia badge in a few days ago. It's been reading zero and I double checked with a liquid kit which also was zero.

 

Here is the scape. Comments? I think the flat area on top will be nice for SPS?

Thanks, I really dig minimalistic scapes or open/caves so this is a bit different for me but I think really what I am missing is the corals.

YEP, it's like half the head is submerged. I'm weird. or maybe just creative. Yeah, I see things in the clouds too.

My LFS only stocks C. dubia:

 

 

And those grow awfully large.

 

I still have the tiny rock Mantis that lives in the back corner of my tank.

Wow those are gorgeous It came on gulf live rock so it is probably a pink version of a N. wennerae

GFO and fan added... it is sort of a mess but my mom is coming up to visit n the next week or two and bringing me power tools so I can mount everything including the lights.

I got a blue acro free 1 week ago when a local reefer accidentally broke a branch off and I mounted it to a plug when I got home. I moved it into the 45g cube today. I was surprised to find in only a week in my frag tank, it had started to encrust into the glue on the plug.

 

 

 

I mounted it up high, it was getting blasted at the top of his tank under t5's and I put it directly under my par38 in the frag tank and it didn't seem to mind.

I like not having the spotlight/shadows everywhere but miss the shimmer. It does put off a fair amount of heat which is to be expected, I am surprised it doesn't have a 2nd fan on the other end.

 

I can't wait to hang it next to LED's and see how that looks. My husband loves that its "blue" and he insists I don't change anything ... ofc... I told him... I DO WHAT I WANT!

Good to hear. I'm sure addition of LEDs will give you back the shimmer. They do run fairly hot. My 36" only had one fan.

If that's how pretty that acro is small, can't imagine how it'll be once it thickens up.
