MikeTR
Now thats what Im talking about. Super healthy big floppy mantle. Very nice wild clam with lots of unusual growth on the shell. If you lived closer I would nap it from you. SWEET!!! Yes I I see it mid left. Your tank looks great, but I may have to call the cops on you for having that powder blue tang in there. He he heeeee!! So far so good... They always are. Clams are one of the few reef critters that can look perfect one day, and be completly dead the next. Sometimes completely gutted out without explanation. so far it out lasted my Derasa, but tank was too young for a clam at that point I think. I didn't have any choice but to move him over as the other one was getting shut down. I could tell something was amiss 2 days before his shell was empty. Just wasn't opening up as far, and then gone. THis is exactly the type of post I was hoping for when I created this thread. I am so glad to see you have been keeping a Maxima in a 3 gallon successfully. We have had so many inquiries weather or not it is possible to do that, and you have proven that it is. In all honesty your clam looks a little pinchy, and you have reported that it has had fresh water treatment, so there was cause for concern at some time, but it still seams to be doing well. Let it be though. I like what you have done. Please let me know how this clam is doing in the next few months, this is a very interesting case to me. THanks for posting!!!! -M Link to comment

jedimasterben
Oops, my bad. CPE contains a minuscule amount of GFO (actually, less minuscule and more pathetic for the price lol). You'd be a lot better off to purchase carbon and GFO separately to use (Phosguard is a better choice if not running in a reactor, though). Link to comment
