It's a bulky clamp about 7.3/4 " long and 1 1/8 " deep.

Thanks for taking the time to measure. Yes, that is quite bulky and likely won't work for me it sounds like.

Looking to get a bigger tank would the the 120w16k work on a 36×18×24 with 120° reflectors. Not looking for sps just sort lps and a rbta

The 160w would be ideal, but you could place your higher light coral in the middle of you get the 120. I have the 160w on my 36 x 24 tank, and even with that, the edges are a little dim. I need to get the 120* lenses. I did add 2 t5ho bulbs to it though, so I don't have that issue any more

Thanks but the guy I was getting that from fell through. I have a friend giving my a 30×18×24 for free. Odd size I no but I like how it's still 18 deep

One of my control boards went out in my Razor. I've had the unit up and running since August of 2013. It's $50.00 from coralvue to replace, but is on backorder. Anyone else had this issue? It melted the side of the light where the wire attaches to the heat sink.

Looks like the first generation, mine doesn't have the logo and I purchased it in early 2014.

In my opinion CoralVue should not let critical parts go out of stock, especially since early Razors had heat issues just like this.

Look into BuildMyLed, the new multi-channel fixtures. More expensive but very nice, and can be controlled with an Apex, ReefKeeper, or paying for a BML controller.

IMHO it's not so much Coralvue as Maxspect. With the new models, production has shifted away from the first gen.

I just picked up a 120w 16k version for my fusion 20. I have been using the IM skkye lights (36 watt total) for 9 hours a day. I'm wondering what a good starting point for my new lights would be? My tank is primarily sps with a couple torches and zoas near the bottom.

Hi i've been been running these setting for 2 months so far:

10:30 A:0 B:3

11:30 A:10 B:60

13:30 A:75 B:100

19:30 A:85 B:100

21:30 A:15 B:85

23:00 A:0 B:1

I think it's a bit too high compared to guys. What is the best lighting schedule for maxspect razor?

The thing that need the most light in my aquarium is probably my maxima clam (on sand bed tho) and BTA

Thanks!

I would not run the blues all night, I think the tank needs a good 8 hours of pitch dark.

On my 29 gallon with 100 degree lenses I don't go above 75,75 and I aim for 6 hours of max brightness.

So what's your light cycle? I'll just copy that and change it now.

Also what do you mean by 100 degree lenses? Are you talking out the roof/hood of the tank? The roof of my tank is just a piece of thin plastic

Hey guys so i have the Razor nano and im just curious if im running my light scedule to high. I have a 35 gallon 23x23x15. Light sitting 7" above the water. MY light scedule is

1200 A 0% B 1%

1300 A 66% B 70%

1430 A 70% B 74%

1600 A 85% B 90%

2000 A 75% B 78%

2100 A 0% B 1%

Its been runing for 2 months now but after eading all the low light setting on here im afraid i might be running to high of an intesity. I havent lost anything coral wise they all extend besides my gonapra but thats another story. Should i leave it as is or turn it down? I set it up without knowing what i was doing cause im new to the hobby but now im worried i have done it wrong! Any input will be much apreciated!

I meant 120 degree lenses, vs the 90 degree that come stock with the light. :)

0600: 00, 01

1100: 00, 30

1500: 70, 75

2100: 70, 75

2200: 00, 50

2300: 00, 00

This works for my tank (a 29 gallon) and my lenses, it may be too bright for you. Rent a PAR meter if you can. I aim for 200 PAR near the top and middle, 120 around the edges.

Do you think your cycle is good for a clam as well?

I think I might go: (Maybe just a bit higher than yours at 10:00)

1100: 00, 30

1500: 70, 75

2100: 70, 75

Impossible to know without a meter. :) The stock lenses on the LED concentrate the light a lot more so you'll be getting higher PAR than me. Clams can take A LOT of light, really as much as you can give them, so I would not worry about the clam, just make sure it's getting enough.

I run mine like so:

TP1 08:00 Ch1 0% Ch2 0%

TP2 09:30 Ch1 40% Ch2 65%
TP3 11:30 Ch1 65% Ch2 85%
TP4 18:30 Ch1 65% Ch2 85%
TP5 20:30 Ch1 40% Ch2 65%
TP6 22:00 Ch1 0% Ch2 0%

I feel anymore and I may fry the corals at the top which are about a foot away from the light.

Hello. I run a Razor 160W 16000K over a 80X50x50 (cm) (31"x19"x19") tank.

My light schedule is

P1: 9:00 Ch1 0 Ch2 0

P2: 11:00 Ch1 5 Ch2 45
P3: 14:00 Ch1 50 Ch2 80
P4: 18:00 Ch1 60 Ch2 80
P5: 21:30 Ch1 0 Ch2 23
P6: 0:30 Ch1 0 Ch2 0
I had it hanging above the tank 12" with the stock lenses. Unfortunately I can't hang it higher because of a bracket system I use. I saw some dark sports on the sides of the tank (I have a really high column of rock at the left side with a plateau on top for acroporas that extends close to the glass. Those frags close to the glass did't get enough light.)
So, I decided to buy the 120 degrees lenses. Today I made the change and lowered the unit to 8". Is it too low? Do you propose a mixed combination of lenses (90 and 120) for my tank?

Can the Razor's be controlled via Apex ?

No, they don't have 0-10v ports. Spencer is working on Bluefish control, not exactly sure what all it entails as far as performing the upgrade, but it should be simple enough :)

So they can be controlled by Bluefish?
