Urchins are so cool. I would love to get one, I really want a cleaner shrimp also but can't stomach the cost of one just yet. An urchin may be more obtainable for me at this point in time and I have a ton of coraline algae sucking down trace elements that it could go to town on haha.

And here's the video as promised. As usual, you've got to click through for full screen HD goodness:

Reposting as it got cut on the page break...

So the new urchin decided to hang out on the glass a little tonight, so I grabbed the camera and went to town. There's a video coming, but those take forever for vimeo to process because I'm to lazy to buy pro.

But until then, here's pictures:

Are either of them expensive down there? Their both pretty cheap up here, or at least tuxedos are. There are some varieties that are much more expensive, but that's true with anything in this hobby.

Urchins should be fairly cheap, cleaners, blood shrimp etc. are very pricy. Last time I looked a single red line cleaner was about $120-170 depending where you shop.

Wow... To be honest, I'm not feeling too bad for you, since I know how much you pay for most of your stony coral!

Haha yeah, we get great deals on local SPS and the like, our fish and invert costs are quite high though. Makes me wonder why I don't stricktly keep a reef and forget about fish haha.

I've said a few times, the only reason I keep fish is so people don't ask me why I don't have fish in a fish tank!

Hrmm... I need to figure out what I'm going go to cook\bake this weekend. Maybe brisket or danishes from scratch or a super french bread... You know, all the things you want to try but don't because they take too much time? Yeah I want to cross one of those off my list!

Scary Urchin. The razor sharp teeth probBly inspired some Hollywood creatures. Pictures are unbelievAble.

Yeah, I'm really happy with how they turned out.

Time for more food posts... More pizza related stuff. Trying out a chicago deep dish today, turned out pretty good.

In other news, I realized I probably need to back up some pictures as I really don't have a backup of them now. So I bought a cloud backup (http://www.code42.com/crashplan/). This is a PSA to anyone who doesn't have a backup, it's pretty cheap (5$/month) and well worth it for both peace of mind and if you do have a crash.

The tank is still going. I'm still fighting with the doser. One of these days I'm going to buy BRS pumps and chunk the damn things. Though, I don't think I have enough open plugs on my energy bar to do that. So probably it'll happen at the same time I build a stand and finally move the tank off the counter. Though, if I'm going to go through all that, I might as well upgrade the sump... And at that point, I might as well upgrade the tank.... Then I start thinking about how much all that would cost, and I end up back where I am today.

So I didn't clean the glass, but here's a FTS:

FTS = Full tank shot or full tummy shot....

What doser are you running that your having so much issue with?
