My right ear was clogged for days. I'm really worried about the honeymoon; if I can barely handle 12 feet, how am I gonna handle 50 feet? I still need to do my open water dives. Link to comment

pschom Posted June 29, 2013 Author Share Posted June 29, 2013 Been pretty quiet recently. Work is getting in the way of play... All the corals looked good today, but growth seems to have slowed a bit. Freakin bryopsis is growing out of control in certain low flow and high flow spots. All other algaes seem to have died down a bit. Still got a bunch in the overflow but that's ok. Think I'm going to try and trade in the from rock for another one with a clam. Clam is large enough where I probably wouldn't need to feed it much, if at all. Still messing with the vega to find te right color scheme. At one point it was too purple, then too yellow, then not bright enough.... It's almost there. Need to get some test kits... I know this is extremely interesting information, but its a tank journal and that's all I got right now. Link to comment

Thx, I'm going to do that tomorrow, hopefully if I can find a cheap mg test kit around. Seems like most of the stuff is growing on one rock, but the scape never goes back the way you had it... pschom Posted July 1, 2013 Author Share Posted July 1, 2013 PICS! and NEW CORAL Picked up a medium sized Yellow Fiji Leather Coral from Aquarium One. Always wanted one and now... Fits perfectly in the space I had for it. I always thought that without this specific coral mixed reefs look like they are missing something. Anyway, I couldn't decide which pic was the best so here's a few. Also dosed quite a bit of Mg during the water change today so we will see how that goes. As well as I used a baster to blast the rocks. YUCK ! I don't usually do that, but I guess now I will. Most of the crap came from the areas that had the most pest algae growing...so I guess that makes sense. I had to move the daggon monti cap frag from the GSP rock because the GSP grew from under an overhang and was creeping toward the frag. Should have listened to Tron, but I still want a huge GSP rock. Some of the colors are still not coming through well even with the ISO and other settings on this camera. Sadly the yellow leathers look like pooh under blues, and the yellow really comes out under a more 10K spectrum. Tomorrow and Tuesday I'm going to tweak the light settings a bit. And yeah that fish 'Bubble' is a photo hoe. Lol. Maybe she just loves me. Always comes to see me and nibble my finger. But doesn't like anyone else getting attention. She gets pissed, throws a tantrum and shoos everyone away. I used to get love from Jacque too, but I have a feeling she had something to do with his social inadequacy. Link to comment
