Except for that water change business That will be my whole day off, I have to get a few things for groceries, then it is Gas and water time. I am getting my other powerhead too if I can, ready for this algae to go away. And I will make sure it's gone by end of day tomorrow! If I have to make 2 trips to the LFS and do the whole 40 gallon change tomorrow I will. I am a woman on a mission! Link to comment

But, now I have to find a tank sitter soon Yeah 20 gallons yesterday and 15 gallons today so basically a 100% WC in the last 24 hours, sheesh my back hurts. I need my personal masseuse back... I have a Quaker Parrot AKA Monk Parakeet his name is Marty McFly and he has seizures. We control them with Phenobarbital in his water. Sweet little green chicken though. He eats just about everything and Andrew and I spoil him as he is handicapped. He doesn't speak (probably has something to do with his condition) but kisses and is just a love bug. Link to comment
surgicalsense
Awwww so sweet, poor thing. Least your there to care for him. Quakers are band from the region I live in. Has to do with the farming... anyhow, I used to breed parots. I used to have a Sengal named Shelby. I miss her. Had everything from lovebirds to conures also. Link to comment
FlCandy
Alright headed to LFS, then WC so back in an hour or 2. Then new FTS with lights all on and pics of the zoas and their final placement as I did end up super gluing the RGBs down after breaking the stem off. I like their placing the Purple ones are already moving onto the rock right next to them. So cool to have a coral in the tank. Link to comment

I have an outlaw birdie! Okay WC is done, changed out Carbon, Have Before, Afters and will post FTS tomorrow of all 3 so you guys can compare! I am pretty excited! Tank looks 100% now! Just dusty! Poor Zoas are like Light yay! Everyone is open and happy though! Pretty pleased with myself right now. Link to comment
JoelRHale
Thats so sweet you have a handicapped bird I like knowing there are big hearted people out there making sure animals like that still live a good and happy life instead of being out down. Our Bichon has terrible eyesight, poor joints, diabetes, kidney stones, and a habit of eating things she needs removed. But we love her and take care of her as best as we can so she has a good life. FlCandy
I look at it like this, they are family too, would you put down little Suzi because she has epilepsy? Would you put down Grandma because she has health issues? NO! So why put down fluffy because they suffer from the same thing. The same treatments are available for animals that are available for people so why not at least give them a chance? They will tell you when they are ready for it, and I know that from experience. FlCandy
My back is shot! Not really but I am sore, Advil on board and mebe a shot of rum before bed....wish I had some Crown.... LMAO But I am going to make sure it stays dark JIC until I get home tomorrow and then a new FTS. Yeah they are reaching on the sides for the rock, really funny, the others are happy and open, colors are bright and they seem pleased not reaching for light or anything just open and happy. (I hope so, my back made sure they should be!) Mmmmmm more chinese too! So excited for Saturday! The zoo has Malayan Tiger Cubs on exhibit and they are doing a meet and greet with the animals for us (my husband's work, and the other employees and their families etc)! I would love to raise baby wild animals for zoos and breeding centers. Man oh man. Oh hey did anyone hear on the news today the Black Rhino has been listed as extinct in the wild? Yeah it's true the only ones you can see are the ones in your zoos. Truly a sad day. Link to comment
JoelRHale
Ew crown. That is so cool! Will you get to pet them? You should smuggle one out. Great news about the zoas, I told you they would be happy! Very sad about the rhinos. It is good though that we do have breeding programs in place to prevent total extinction. Link to comment
FlCandy
Yeah but the plains will never be the same, what's next? Elephants? Lions? Who knows.. IDK I hope I can pet them, I would love to! I will take tons of pics! Link to comment

FlCandy
Pics on their way guys, just was so busy yesterday I didn't get the chance to get them up. Oh and I will have the FTS in about an hour! LOL Tigers, Leopards and this really cool dancing bird, when my husband gets the video on my computer I will upload it too! LOL Link to comment
FlCandy
Here we go Momma Tiger Babies Playing I want to be like my mommy! Babies hunting mom. Peacock! This crazy looking bird was so cool, as Andrew and I were going to take a picture he started dancing (stomping the ground, jumping in the air, and just looked happy) and displaying himself. He liked showing off for the camera! And when you laughed he did it even more! Fricking awesome bird. Crazy Bird Dancing Panther This cat was apparently rescued by the PBZ from an owner who fed him only chicken soup to keep him calm, and was going to put him down and sell the pelt. So they got him nursed him back to health and now 20% of all captive bred Leopards can trace their lineage back to him. Amazing I need to get a new FTS, the tank became completely clear from yesterday to today and the ones I have don't do it justice. so that will be a few more minutes. Enjoy the animals. FlCandy
Okay New FTS this was 11-9-11 - Bleh! 11-10-11 After 20 gallon WC. This is 11-12-11 After another 15 gallon WC. This is this morning It's actually damn near perfectly clear since last night. Camera is a Phone so not the best thing to do this with. Look at all my baby Zoas! Okay that's it for now.... LOL But I believe I have conquered the algae, and beat it's butt into submission! Link to comment
