has the brittle star come out at all or is it hiding in the rocks?

It's been hanging out half-way in the rocks, just waving it's arms out there

Still cool :) Thanks again

thats what mine do  i know they come out because they occasionally get sucked into the filter, but in the many months i've had them, i have only once seen 1 come out fully and it was only for a few seconds. there's only one explanation...

orly....what kind?

It was a HH on some zoas, just looked up what kind, looks like caulerpa serrulata

Not many things eat it...so it's probably illegal in California :/

*Edit: Hey cool it's not illegal :)

Also, I found some pics that kinda look like my squat lobster :)

eeeff how long does it live?

Idk, probably depends on tank conditions and diet anyways

"eeeff"?

Sounds really nice, how big is it?

Around 2-3"

It's pretty cool, a bright red with white spots

Thinking about adding some Caulerpa nummularia to this tank. I have some that HH'd into my 55gal, the only thing I don't like about it is that it has part of it rooted in the rock, but as it grows it just kinda grows straight out into the open space, which I don't like the look of, is there a way to get it to just grow in the sand or on the rock?

Oh, I think I found out what that mysterious thin red algae is :)

I was looking at this great thread and I think it might be[ i]Centroceras clavulatum[/i]?
