opy01 Posted May 24, 2010 Share Posted May 24, 2010 Hey M, I just got done prepping the tank and got a stand. What light would you recomend for a 20 tall planted tank? Most of mine are MH or LED but they are all coral tanks. Except for my invert tank that uses the stock BC29 bulbs. Link to comment
got2envy Posted May 24, 2010 Author Share Posted May 24, 2010 Go cheap use a power compact fixture lol, the growth is great with the Current 6700k/10000k combo bulb. I have 4x 65w 2x 6700k/ 10000k and 2x 420nm/460nm or go MH...a 150MH should work great! Link to comment
opy01 Posted May 24, 2010 Share Posted May 24, 2010 Thanks! I'm thinking PC, the MH will produce too much heat and I am trying to do a budget tank. I'll look around the classifieds and Ebay. I went to the LFS to buy some astrea snails and when I mentioned my new (to me) tank the manager gave me a couple of macros since I am there ALL the time lol. I will have to frag a couple of things to trade for some LR. One of the local reefers has a couple hundred gallon tank with curing LR filling it and loves to trade with me . ok back to poo talk... or were we talking teets? No, we wanted more pix, thats right. I have plant sechs going on in da jungle pix of da sechs (Asexual) taxifolia...remember if this is not a macroalgae you want in your system, do not introduce it as it will go Asexual in the right conditions. I have seen no ill effects to the fish or corals while this is happening...no "tank crash" This happened before with the racemosa as well a while back. later in the day I will change the carbon and filter floss...no water change. what Taxifolia looks like when it goes Asexual...it turns white notice the non reproducing taxifolia right next to it a video Link to comment
