I'm not sure if my birdsnest will recover (forgot to take pic) from the FS stings, and now it appears the candycanes are the next target. I swear it seeks out nearby corals - there is plenty of space and yet tonight it adds another couple inches to its sweepers. I can't hate it for bringing the best weapons to the battlefield though. I did that on my past reef tank, and it was AWESOME! The only thing I have seen to rival a huge frogspawn forrest was a huge green star polyp forrest. Both ROCK! Link to comment

That would be cool I did that in my one iteration of my 58. I work at a school district and we will be starting a reefclub. We decided to go with a 20l as a display tank, this thread provided the inspiration. Very nice Link to comment

I have AC 70 Modded into a fuge now with filter floss but am thinking about going your route how do you like it since youve had both??? Link to comment

ticklem Posted March 27, 2010 Share Posted March 27, 2010 Yep just got my Sundial 30" a couple days ago and order my bulbs today 2 ATI Blue + 1 KZ Purple 1 GE 6500K Very similar to what you have color wise. I'm not haveing very much luck with my cheato at the moment seems to be dying off...Was keeping light on 24/7 now changed it to 12 hrs see if that helps still gonna get the remora if it hasnt already been sold. I think you would need a massive amount of macroalgae to get the same amount of nutrient export you get from a skimmer. Lights should be great! I like the t5's. I like the 20k MH too. I think next tank I'm going to go with a combo of MH and t5's. Link to comment

violinist Posted March 28, 2010 Author Share Posted March 28, 2010 Tried to get some top down shots. They suck, but it's an interesting view that hasn't been seen to date. These are all from before I re-scaped it today. The gross sponge in the skimmer box was from my quarantine tank. I thought I'd put it there to load it up with bacteria but it just gunked up so I threw it out. Also threw out the birdsnest that was slowly dieing after getting nuked. So I guess left isle is now LPS/shroom land. This is the new scape, and hopefully the candycanes are out of striking distance. The old frogspawn is pretty po'd, I can only assume from having its victim taken out of stinger's reach. Probably the best blenny snap I've ever taken: New torch New frogspawn starting to puff up Link to comment
