First, here is what happens to one stalk of Xenia in 4 weeks:

Second, look who came out of hiding. I am theorizing (imagining) that he's hunting on the left island. there are two brittle stars here, a couple of whitish looking starfish and a few asterina I see on these rocks from time to time. Either that or he just went for a stroll. Whatever the reason, it was nice to see the shy guy:

I am so in love with these shrimp, but Im afraid I wouldnt be able to afford to feed them! DO/Can they eat anything other than live starfish? ;3

Well some frisky critter managed to topple a couple of rocks off the top of the right island. No glass cracked or anything, but the one rock had my tiny little birds nest frags on it which I've been happy to see growing little stumps of branches. They landed face down in the GSP on the sand bed and a couple of them snapped off. So I don't know if the rest are stung to #### and destined to die now or what.

Saw a little gorilla crab scurrying back into one of the rocks when I was putting things back together.

Moved my vortech while I had the light fixture off the tank. Positioned it for the anticipated placement of the sps frags.

It's really tiny. There was a big one in there that I spiked when I broke up some of the rock. This one has been in there for a couple months now and nothing is damaged so no screwdriver of death for him until he earns it.

Nothing exotic about a crab. I can go order one for dinner any night of the week :P

What about Porcelain Crabs? They are pretty cool!

I don't eat seafood. Ick.

I don't eat crap eaters like crabs either.

Porcelain crabs and the like are very cool, not in the same class at all. Beautiful things get treated differently in life, surely you've discovered this even at your age lol.

:o What are you tryin-

The red eyes of Gorilla Crabs are weird. Kinda like mice in an odd way.

that sucks man gl catching him

Nah, I don't freak out over hitchhikers. No big deal. More upset about those little birdsnest frags getting toppled and broken.

Lol.

Ok, the xenia is erradicated an I scraped off the little bits that were hanging on to the rocks so hopefully that's the end of that.

New sps frags are mounted. As usual I hate myself for my ugly putty skills, but there it is. FTS later when the lights come on.

Also managed to free up one more fair sized piece of LR which I moved to the back of the hex.

I'll start testing calc/alk/mag every day this week to see if the three sps frags push things into dosing land (hope not).

I also had to yank my little birds nest frags. The broken/stung pieces were already turning white :( ####ing snails.

Also, I'm sick to death of this ugly rubble filled sand. Absolutely fed up with it. I don't remember what brand this junk is, though I bought it at Petco or somewhere like that - Pet Something, and I swear it must be 60% rubble which is always moving to the top week after week. Scrape the junk off the top, next week there's more. And it always takes on this hint of brown color. So I have light brown chunks of shell/pebbles/junk laying on nice white sand.

Ugly.

I see a transplant in the near future.

Also picked up this eyelash blenny at MWC this afternoon. Of course he holed up in a cave once he went in, so I figured I'd better get a bag shot:

Added some more snails. No pics of snails, who cares about snails.

Here are some tank shots after the xenia removal and frag mounting. A turbo decided this was a good time to start chewing on the front of the vortech, so the mp10 was blasting water downwards and kicking up a bunch of junk. Apologies for the debris in the shots.

Thanks, dude. I just read your nem tank thread for the umpteenth time, dreaming of an algae free hex tank with some nems in it lol.
