Six Line in the (Nano) House !!!!!

They will help keep your corals healthy and hitchiker free.

The one in our big office tank spends all day nibbling near corals. He spends quite a bit of time cleaning around the base of our Finger Leather as well. He is very careful and never bothers anything in the tank. He is our coral quarantine.

I can watch him/her work all day long.

Grats Teal !

Yeah, neon candy cane.... I had some small frags of it that I thought were green, then I got that bad boy from a fellow reefer that was getting out along with the anemone for the clowns.... that huge piece was only $20.... It was actually more than twice that size, but I split it with someone and gave him the bigger piece cause he has a 55 gallon tank. :)

It looks like its splitting again in some areas.... once your tanks going rob, let me know.... maybe ill frag you off a chunk and send it on out to ya. :)

I have not tried one yet.... I have a friend who has one in his 55 gallon with PC lighting that has been doing GREAT for 4 years now, but anyone you seem to talk to on here always says that they will die unless you have them under MH lighting. I will probably be trying a small one after the new year, im just worried about it possibly dying, and how bad it would pollute my tank because of it.

My stock list is as follows:

10 blue legged hermits

2 turbo snails

8 margarita snails

10 nasarrius snails

2 true percs (mated) with green bulb purple tipped anemone

1 six line wrasse

1 cleaner shrimp

I am going to be adding one more fish, most likely a goby of some type to sift the sand..... other than that, I should be just about done with the fish in the tank.

So that loc line is 1/2", where did u buy it from?

Just a local fish store.....

On a side note, I made my first official mistake with this tank... I bought a Diamond watchman goby... I was looking for a goby that will sift through my sand, only problem is he does TOO good a job in this little tank.... hes moving half of my substrate around in my tank... DOH !!!!

I still dont know what will be the goby replacement.... I am still trying to decide. I only really like the helfichi's firefish, im not too keen on the others, and im not going to spend that kind of money on a firefish.

I think i will end up with a royal gramma or some type of dottyback.

Well, I bought something new for my tank.... I am sure I will get people saying that it was bad for me to do it, but I decided to give it a try....

croceaclam1.jpg

And a new FTS..... it doesnt look too great right now because every ounce of liverock is covered in substrate dust from that damn goby that I bought... Once I find someone who will take him off my hands, Ill be blowing off all the rock trying to clear all the dust off of it....

Now that Im looking at this newest picture, the xenia has REALLY been growing... never noticed it until I looked at the pictures....

How is your clam doing?

Unfortunately the anemone decided his favorite spot in the tank is on the back side of the rocks, so he hangs out there and the clownfish follow him back there.

So far so good with the clam.... he seems to be doing great in there so far.

TC you tank looks awesome.

Clams are tough I have tried them a couple differant times and just haven't had much luck. Takes a lot of light and supplemental feeding with phytoplankton. I tried! I went as far as growing my own phyto, the system loved it but in the end the clam just didn't thrive.

I have great luck with BTA's. Love'um. BTA's love to put there foot deep under a ledge in the rocks. From the looks of your rock formations the front side looks great but not much in the way of deep creavises (sp) or overhangs it can hide its foot deep into.

Try forcing it from the back with more current back there and give it a nice home in the front by adding some kind of formation with a overhang where it can hide its foot under it and deep into it. They like to wedge there foot under the overhang and into a creavise or tight between 2 rocks and then stratch wayyyyyy out around and over the overhang and up to the light . I bet if you look where it is now you will see it is found a home like that.

I have had a BTA in my 135gal tank for a couple years now and it has not move 1" from its spot from day one. But I have a place it can hide like I described.

I have heard all the horror stories about clams from ALOT of people, but my friend at work has had a crocea clam in the bottom of his 55 gallon tank for more than 4 years with PC lighting and has had NO problems.....

As for the Anemone, there are actually alot of crevices and ledges for him to cling onto in the front of the rocks, theyre just not really visible with the straight on front shot.... The back of the rocks where he's hanging out is actually almost 100% crevice free... I actually dremeled it straight across to try to get it close to the back false wall..... I have one of my locline outputs aimed right towards that general area, but its where he seems to like it the most, so more power to him I guess. If thats where he wants to chill, he's more than welcome to do so.

I moved the rock that I had with the xenia on it to the corner of the false wall... im hoping that it will eventually start to grow on the false wall covering it across there.... Ive seen it on AGA aquariums, so Im hoping itll be fine like that on the plastic as well. :)

Well, I just aimed one of the loclines directly at him..... itsa a good amount of flow, lets see if he moves now... I would rather have him up front so everyone can see him and the clowns, but it doesnt bug me enough to go back there and pull him off the rocks and move him. -_-

You bet the worst thing you could is forceably move him. Like you said just leave him there if he wants to stay there. The only time I would recommend moving one is if you can actually move the whole rock he is attached to, that way you don't stand a chance of damaging his foot and if he doesn't like that move he will move again himself.
