PeterU
Bristleworm on a snail? Bristleworms are okay. That's a small one IMO. 1 Quote Link to comment

Have you ever see a snail with a bristleworm appendage or a bristleworm with a shell 🤷♂️? It looks too evil to be safe 👹. Imagine if it starts to talk😱 4 Quote Link to comment

Kindanewtothis
I don't see any plus value to keep bio-media in the hob filter on the 10g, I'm thinking more floss would be better. Quote Link to comment

Normally I'd agree. But with an ammonia spike, you don't want to be removing any part of your biofilter. 2 hours ago, Kindanewtothis said: Everyone is accompted for. No death (fish or invert). Weird that we can't figure it out. 4 minutes ago, Kindanewtothis said: Still cloudy this morning. Bacterial blooms often last for several days. UV is often very successful at getting rid of them. Otherwise, I suggest just waiting it out. You'll want to keep dosing Prime everyday for a week or two to deal with the ammonia spike. Quote Link to comment

It was moved in the tank weeks ago, tear out from the rock it was now attached to and placed somewhere else. It became darker, browner and wasn't "glowing" anymore. I only removed it from the tank yesterday. Edited September 12, 2021 by Kindanewtothis 1 Quote Link to comment

Tired
That critter there is one of the beneficial species of bristleworm, in case you still needed an actual answer. Harmless and helpful, leave it in. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
Kindanewtothis
"Live phyto blends purchased from your LFS can be used to start a culture. However, this will likely result in a monoculture of a single species (often Nannochloropsis)." @seabass Looks like this is happening, it's now green 1 Quote Link to comment
seabass
That looks really good. When you get your plankton sieve, strain the culture through that to clean it up even more. But make sure that you don't use it for phyto after you've used it for pods, or you'll have 2 pod cultures and 0 phyto cultures. 1 2 1 Quote Link to comment

Kindanewtothis
I wonder if I don't have a pods culture in the 10g, there are really many of them. Do I keep dosing phyto while the bacterial bloom? 1 Quote Link to comment

Kindanewtothis
Would a large water change help at all with the bacterial bloom? Quote Link to comment
seabass
I would just provide good flow and wait it out. However, I doubt that a water change would do any harm. 2 Quote Link to comment
