However, I doubt that a water change would do any harm. I'll try adding a powerhead that got an air tube on it. It might be too powerful though. Quote Link to comment

Kindanewtothis
@seabass do you think harvest is due? It have only been 5 days since I splitted the culture. Second picture is once shaken. Edited September 14, 2021 by Kindanewtothis Quote Link to comment
seabass
The culture looks good! While not necessary to harvest now, you certainly could of you wanted to. IME, you need to harvest at least once a week. 1 Quote Link to comment

Kindanewtothis
I hope it works cause that's a lot of movement. Quote Link to comment
seabass
I was actually suggesting you use the original powerhead (pointed up) as opposed to the new one. However, it's your judgement call. Quote Link to comment

Kindanewtothis
The good thing about the bacterial bloom in the 10g is that I have white sand without any dinos that I can see. Still cyano (less than it used to) in the 50g but right now, except from some removal with the turkey baster (new one, things don't get out), i keep my hand out of the tank. CUC is doing an amazing job. 2 Quote Link to comment
Kindanewtothis
Also there is a pods bloom in the 10g. Could there be any link with the bacterial bloom? All the dots are pods in the pic. Quote Link to comment

It's possible; some pods are thought to scavenge bacteria from detritus and algae. I suspect it's more than just a coincidence. Although I've never heard of anybody culturing pods with just bacteria. I dosed a little bit more phyto last night and will do the same for a while. Quote Link to comment

Kindanewtothis
Flow helped, but still a lot of cyano in the 50g but the tank has looked so much worst that I'm still proud. 4 Quote Link to comment
Kindanewtothis
Btw I haven't cleaned the walls for days now. The CUC was missing in that tank but would they have survived the dinos? 1 Quote Link to comment
Kindanewtothis
14 liters water change on the 10g. Still cloudy but a bit clearer. 1 Quote Link to comment
Kindanewtothis
Moved the frogspawn colony next to the other frogspawn. It's not a hammer colony. Needed the place for future hammers and they were almost touching (my frogspawn and the hammers) Picture of my foot included! 3 Quote Link to comment
Kindanewtothis
So far it doesn't seems to care that I moved it. 2 Quote Link to comment

Kindanewtothis
Should I removed the skeleton of the hammer that died? Quote Link to comment
Tired
No. It's possible there are bits of flesh left that could grow back. You can move it off the rockwork, but keep it right-side-up, and leave it in the tank. 1 1 Quote Link to comment

Clown79
I've never had a euphyllia recover from bits of flesh or polyp bail out. Any other coral like brains, blasto, trumpets, chalice, plates i have seen recover from the smallest amount of flesh but euphyllia, skeleton just became an algae magnet. 3 Quote Link to comment
