Its really hard to tell on the other one, but def still an acro. Yeah, that’s the closest one so far. I would love it if that was a stag but as I remember, the guy that I got it from didn’t have any stags in his main tank. I guess we will find out in 6 months or so. To be honest, I’m not even sure what are its true colors. Besides, many corals in my tank look different than “same” corals in other ppls tanks. Perhaps because I don’t run my lights super blue or because my Alk is higher than most. 1 Quote Link to comment

A Little Blue
Since I assumed that my Circus Goby have vanished (I haven’t seen him in 2 months) I decided to replenish my fish stocking with new fish (deep water Chromis). Guess what? Circus Goby popped out of nowhere while feeding heavier few minutes ago. And now, I am a little concern with possibility of overstocked tank. I’ll monitor water parameters over the next month or so and I’ll try to determine a necessary approach to address this silly issue. Quote Link to comment

I think @Nano Nano Boo Boo Is about to see his little clown goby pop out soon. Funny creatures, but you gotta love em! 1 Quote Link to comment
Cannedfish
Bolt is a really cool little fish! How do they do under bright lights, being from the deep? Also what's personality like? I love seeing people get unusual fish! 1 Quote Link to comment

I would say behavior is extremely social and friendly. Mama Clown isn’t so forgiving as she noticed grace and speed that Bolt uses to sail between food particles during feeding. Light doesn’t seem to be the issue. It stays in the open %99 of the times. Eats well and it has great appetite so far. Female clown seem to like to gang up on Bolt together with Firefish. Which is really odd since Firefish never bothered any other fish except few headbutt exchanges with Tailspot. Fortunately, Bolt is lightning fast and enjoys those silly chases from two, slow, dummies playing who is the “boss”. Most fish have been together for so long that new addition seems like a risky and radical proposition. But if new fish can’t take few punches every now and then, its place and survival on Little Blue reef is questionable. I certainly won’t go out of my way to accommodate the newcomers. If you can hold your own and survive, than you’re more than welcome, if not ..... there is the door. Lol I’ll keep a close eye on behavior of all fish involved in this little game of thrones. I have few options available if intervention is necessary. But I’m more concerned about bioload than silly mini-aggressions at this point. In both cases, I have a pretty good arsenal of options if there is a need to act. 1 Quote Link to comment

KW NANOREEF
Let just say that I added Tom the flame angel to my tank yesterday and now my clown stays in the back of the tank while my canary blenny (bob) sticks himself vertical in the front corner of the tank. What’s even more weird is the fact that my lawnmower blenny is more active than ever lol. The clown and the blenny are both starting to figure out that Tom is one of the most docile fish I have ever had. 1 Quote Link to comment

He sure looks like it but his behavior is super mellow. He gets chased by crazy Clown female and just zigzags around till she gets tired. Lol That didn’t surprise me a bit (aggression) since they are kinda related. What did surprise me was aggression towards Bolt from “innocent” Firefish. Trying to figure this out and my only conclusion is that Bolt likes to hang around the same part of the tank which Firefish claimed since the move to a new tank. 11 hours ago, KW NANOREEF said: Let just say that I added Tom the flame angel to my tank yesterday and now my clown stays in the back of the tank while my canary blenny (bob) sticks himself vertical in the front corner of the tank. Seems like new tankmate addition to an established tank gets all occupants freak out a bit. I wouldn’t worry about it. With time, excitement and anxiety will slowely die out. Flame is a pretty fish. I would concider it but I have some concerns with its bipolar behavior towards coral. In some tanks, Flame is a model citizen and others complain about its nipping fetish. Since I have no experience with this fish, I simply didn’t want to take any chances. Few guys on NR got Flame Angel lately and I’ll follow their experiences with this beautiful fish. Not sure if I would want that (putting FF in its place) as these guys gets spooked by any fish with hint of aggression towards them. And usually retreat within rock scape for safety. Resurrection of a Clown Goby complicated things a bit as I might have a bit more bioload than I would like to deal with at the moment. Quote Link to comment
A Little Blue
Coral vendor that I got latest batch of corals from let me know that he had some issues with one of the montis and couldn’t ship it. At least it was nice of him to let me know and offer a refund or store credit (and some freebie). Things like this happens all the time and I can’t emphasis enough the importance of dipping and making sure pests don’t get introduced to close system sach as reef tank. *Forgot to mention new food that I am trying out. Ordered it from live aquaria. Quote Link to comment
A Little Blue
And more bad news. It seems like my coral shipment got lost. Perhaps my instinct to put getting new frags on hold was correct. Edit: It arrived really late (after 8:30pm). Dipped and placed in frag tank. 1 Quote Link to comment
A Little Blue
Some acros looked good enough to be moved to the main tank. Monti will remain in frag tank for observation. (Still a little pissed. Pics taken few hrs after dipping) And Bolt blending into his surroundings. Some awesome stingers extension. Frag tank Quote Link to comment

I think when I think of bare bottom tanks, they tend to be, well, bare. but with yours so filled-in, the fact that there's no sand doesn't really matter to me. 1 Quote Link to comment

BB tanks can be great (for SPS) or PITA if you don’t keep up with the maintenance. Fortunately, my setup is such that my maintenance is minimal (enormous amount of flow). And I haven't started to add chalices yet. Since they come from the deep, light requirements aren’t critical and makes them a perfect candidates to fill the bottom voids. Quote Link to comment
specore
I've never been a huge fan of the BB look personally; however, some pull it off better than others. Don't know if you have seen Mr Microscopes tank, but his is my favorite BB ever. 1 Quote Link to comment

There wasn't an attempt to grow GSP or even place corals on the bottom, and the result was your focus went entirely to the reef structure itself. At one point he even put an acrylic square underneath his reef structure which gave a cool effect. Yours looks great BTW...it's one of the BB's I really like. 1 Quote Link to comment
