Long time no see! This is 11 months worth of growth on the Kittiyagi and the Katropora. There are more branches in the back, but its hard to get a photo there, and my cardinal is swimming in front of a kitti frag when my husband accidentally broke it. Anyway to get to the Kat to darken down, Kat? It's not bleaching, its a light purple/green and the polyps are still extending and of course its still growing. Hard to get a good pic with LEDs...

Hey there, you have a colony now! :)

If it's not the light (and it could be judging from the bird on the right that's very light in color) - it could be food.

The Kitty looks nice and dark and seems to be in lower light.

Hard to adjust light for any one coral so I would try the food first. It likes nitrates.

My only colorful contribution is the little nub in my 40 gallon.

Nitrates got down to 0 and it was lightening up do I dosed back to 5 to get the good green. Of course this makes other acros get darker, with some going a little brown. Fine line.

Could be food. I definitely havent been feeding as much as I used to. That bird has always had pale tissue since I got as a swap, the polyps are a bright highlighter green. It was higher in my tank until a snail (we call him Gigantor, he is ginamorus) mowed it over and its been on the floor for 4 or so months now... i dont know what its color deal is.

Hey Markalot can you check out my thread when you have a chance? I just posted photos of all my acros and would like some critique/tips if you have the time :)

The thread got bumped to second page. I'll bump it back up to. I just got my par meter in. What part is everyone keeping theirs in?

Link to comment

385 in my RSM. I realized I was pushing very high PAR in this tank a few months back and have since lowered it. I have to get new numbers but i expect it to be around 400 at peak intensity.

Dang, recently? Do you know the source? Do you have a Wrasse?

I have a Katropra as well! browned out though and just getting color back - will post pics when it gets nicer.

it will come back, just hope that high level phosphate you had won't cause leeching from rocks and sand. How did it get that high anyway?

nah, phosphates are stable since the incident - not sure and the rocks aren't the problem since i've been testing daily and algae is what you expect from young tanks. not sure how quickly phosphates binds to rocks but i think i caught this early enough.

oh, and Bare Bottom :naughtydance:
