metrokat
that's wonderful! i'd encourage you to keep going. love your pieces. and i call it art therapy for a reason. ha! i love your use of colors too. also impressed by your gradations of gray in the asian piece. that's something one has to learn as a brush artist. oh really? hmm, i enjoy value studies a lot and that paynes gray was great to work with. This one was my fav from the series I did this summer. One is a photograph, the other is my painting. Link to comment

Dr.Brain Coral
TGIF friends! here is my latest brush painting. our teacher wanted us to paint red mountains in celebration of autumn, but i just wasn't feeling it. when i decided to switch to indigo, though, the results were much better! "Tranquil Heart." I just saw this and Its Beautiful Cindy Link to comment

cindyp
my ycg is doing very well. it was eating reef frenzy like a champ yesterday--loved it. and seems to be eating everything else i'm putting into the tank. i'm so relieved. he is a curious animated fishie that swims around a lot for not being floaty. (?) in sad news, i have not seen my rainfordi goby all morning. it had been coming out less and less, and i think this might mean it has dieded. five weeks in and over $100 spent on pods and various foods to entice did not make up for my /noob mistake. i feel terrible. now i might have a rotting gobi in my tank, but i'm not sure what i can do about that? Awesome to hear about your little clown goby!! Sorry to hear about your rainfordi. Likely (hopefully) your clean up crew will help clean up if you can't find the body. Link to comment
cindyp
despite my best efforts, i've lost the rainfordi goby. last week, she stopped coming out more. midweek, she hadn't come out all day, but after midnight, i saw her partially sticking out from beneath one of the rocks. i thought she was dead, and got some chopsticks to pluck her out. but when i touched her, she scurried back under the rock. so sad. i haven't seen her since. on the weekend, after being MIA for 3 days, i tried to find her in her favorite rock. but no luck. NANOSAPIEN will be proud of me, i cleaned the sand for the first time with my vac gravel cleaner. it wasn't as hard as i thought, and i got a lot of the grunge in the sand out. i'll be testing levels before my next weekly water change. in happier news, the YCG is eating happily. he especially likes reef frenzy. here he is lounging on one of his favorite spots, the bright orange mushroom. kimberbee
Poor goby... But glad everything else is going well!! Your ycg has made me want one when I get a second tank!! Link to comment
cindyp
i picked up my first hammer from weekend ASD sale! what was featured was a more neon green hammer, but for some reason, i kept being drawn to the more purple ones with green, instead of vice versa? maybe the neon green would have given more pop in the tank? but i like the purple. will from ASD told me the neon greens are from austrailia and the one that i chose are from indo? (and yes, i got rid of my bleached gsp ) and because i still cannot get enough of my gelaitnous dendro--i love feeding him! though i did see a youtube video of a similar dendro eating a green clown goby bigger than my ycg in tank! excuse the bits of weed or whatever on tank, i left them on thinking it might help my rainfordi, but alas... cindyp
yeah, dendros are wonderful to photograph, all wispy! they really are so fun to watch in all their manifestations througout the day. it is the grabbiest eater i have, even more so than my flower nems. it'll take food and plop it right into its mouth fast. i still don't know what the gelatinous top feels like. i am going to imagine like mochi. (rice ball, ha!) Link to comment
