Nanofreaks Shallow 45 CADlight

I found a place that made a tank that looked sweet, was shallow (maybe too shallow) but that means they could make one 12" (this was 9"). Let me see if I can find my email to them.

Pretty sure that's the tank Zia has for his seahorse/softy tank. Also pretty sure the guys sells them on eBay for cheaper which is where Zia got his. Don't quote me though!

I posted the cadlights 45 gallon. It's 36x24x12. Comes with everything, which is good and bad. I don't need the skimmer or there return pump. The new sump would be cool though. I can get all the goods and the stand for under $900 not too bad of a deal.

Damn, those look a bit worse then original.

 

They should warranty it out on the fact is it ugly alone. I have seen a DIY black seem that looked better (granted it is the one that blew on me but it still looked better LOL). That isn't a "common bubble issue" that is a shitty silicone job IMO.

There being a bunch a dick holes about it. They want the sticker number which is buried under rock and almost 2 inches of sand. I also have to pay for shipping if they decide to replace the tank. I'm guessing freight on a tank that size isn't cheap. I'm probably going to say #### em and just buy a new tank. I don't want another DB tank anyway.

There seems to be a problem with the seams of those 60g frag tanks. Lawnman and now you. I was wanting to get an 80g but starting to get wary. I hate when companies are dicks about customer service. Its their F' up, they need to fix it.

You are right about them looking like douche nozzles, not sure how great the CadLights tank would be. Looks like a lot of valuable real estate lost in that purchase. Why not find a decent builder local to you (that's right bc u live in MN). Or shoot try your hand at building one, custom overflow, everything you want.

Have you checked out GlassCages ? I've heard they can be asses,but it's worth a shot. Some people I've talked to,they treat the more expensive customers better than the cheaper nano guys like myself.

Buy a quality tank, switch everything over and make a video of what your having to do....post it on YouTube and finish off the video smashing that thing to pieces.

I'd be losing a foot. It's still deeper than my previous tank. It's also shallow, like I like. I don't want to build a giant ass tank and have an issue. I'd maybe try my hand at a pico tank. There is a custom builder here that built my 20 long. That company uses acrylic, which isn't my favorite.

I checked out GC's. I'm still deciding what,mor here to buy. This whole thing just sucks. Fish look happy coral didn't get all ####ed up in the move, and now I have to do it all over again.

That's a great idea. It's also something I'd enjoy doing. The vendor I sold it from is kinda a dousche to IMO. He has more tanks laying around and should be able to get me my money back IMO.

If the dude took as long as he did to build your 20L I'd be scared to see how long he'd take to build a 50+ gallon tank... Have you looked into a Nuvo ? I'm looking around for you,and when I saw the price tag on one of the SR60's my wallet even ran and hid under the dresser lmao.

 

What about a Mr.Aqua tank ? Or even a TruAqua tank ? TruAqua doesn't have a huge amount of users from what I can tell ( their smalls tanks do in the planted tank world ) but as bigger tanks,I can't find anything.

Now not all the deep blue tanks are bad. I got a 30g frag tank I use as my display, seams are pretty good on it. I think it is mainly with these 60g frag tanks. Seems strange to have it happen mostly with one size of tank. Who knows what the cause of the problem is, they should be more than willing to accommodate the swap/trade in. Was your last tank not a deep blue as well? Also the vendor you are dealing with should be taking the tank back and dealing with the distributor/manufacturer. Seems like a shit deal all the way around.

I thought about that. I honestly don't want anything bigger. I'm a nano guy, this thing just had sweet dimensions for a shallow tank. I was almost thinking two tank but them I have that many more tank to take care of. Mr. Aqua has a 65 gallon that's 48" long? I could still use my stand. Then I need to buy the overflow and all that crap too. Tru aqua? Have to check on those.

I had the 34 rimless. I loved that tank, just outgrew it. I agree on the vendor being partially responsible to help a brotha out.

The sr series are crazy, both in coolness and how much they want to stab ya for em. I'd also need another I'm rector and one of there new pimped out skimmers.

 

My real issue is space. Most of my rock has corals encrusted. I can't just remove frags and ditch some rock to make a smaller tank work. It's like fitting ten pounds of shit in a five pound bag.
